Nice little plain for the money, however the build quality is not great. Initially wondered if it was an original product or a Chinese knock-off, but packaging and online pics confirmed it to be a proper Stanley product. The blade was badly out of true, and needed to be ground square and sharpened, and the foot had to be ground flat. But once that was done the plane works great.

Great product delivered ahead of schedule.

This is a fantastic little plane for the money, i was a little bit doubtful about purchasing this after reading some of the other reviews, ie the sole plate been a little bit course ground which has absolutely no bearing on the performance what so ever although can be easily sorted with a bit of wet and dry if you wish, and the front sole plate not always lay flat when adjusted just pushes back into place with no effort at all. Tremendous value for money if your in the market for a new Block Plane then don't think twice just get it and enjoy your purchase and your saving.

This plane is both very tactile and a beauty to use.The blade came very sharp (so no immediate need to grind it down) and it cuts beautifully.It is well made and the adjustments are very easy / precise to use.Obviously it is "courses for horses" and this is design for small and more delicate work, but it make a good addition to the woodworking toolkit.

This is brilliant with shaving flat the end grain of timber. Having a very sharp blade helps, using one hand to 'power' the plane forwards and the other to press down on the timber to ensure a planed flat surface. Can also use the plane to create a concave edge surface (used at an angle) that you could be using as a pattern for a thicker length of timber. Can still use the standard 30 and 25 degree sharpening angles. Would not be with our it.

I have only so far used the block plane a few times after giving the blade a good sharpening, although it wasn`t that bad anyway. It feels good in the hand and is an awful lot better than the old one I had.But what I am amazed about is the fact I only ordered it yesterday, and it was in my house when I got in from work!! Brilliant service again from both Amazon and the carrier.

The sole needed flattening (a lot of it), but the blade was pretty sharp out of the package. You get what you pay for, and then some.

Ho preso il pialletto Stanley in quanto é una delle Marche con qualità prezzo più elevato. Stanley produce molti utensili da lavoro, ma credo che la punta di diamante della sua produzione siano proprio le pialle. Ho preso questo per completare una serie di pialle che ho già, sempre Stanley, e per consentirmi di eseguire lavori dove delle pialle più grosse, tipo la n. 4 o la n. 5, non mi permetterebbero. Il pialletto ha una grandezza tale da poter essere usato con una solo mano, la lama é affilatissima già appena arrivato ed i materiali sono di prima scelta, corpo unico in ghisa e pomelli in ottone. Buona la sensazione che si ha tenendolo in mano, con i 2 scavi laterali che aiutano a non scivolare ed il peso stesso dell'utensile. Come si può vedere dalle foto, su questo pialletto si può regolare anche la bocca oltre che l'uscita della lama, questo favorisce la fuoriuscita del truciolo in base al tipo di legno utilizzato, al contrario dell'altro modello in vendita sempre su Amazon che però non ha la bocca regolabile. La suola ed i fianchi sono già spianati dalla casa quindi si può già cominciare a lavorare appena lo si tira fuori dalla scatola. Lo consiglio sicuramente come prima pialla per prenderci mano prima di prenderne altre più grandi, sicuramente provata questa poi vi verrà la scimmia di prenderne altre, heheh.
