The Right Tool For The Job
I save so much money doing my own auto repairs that I don't feel bad about spending a little on good tools. This socket is well-made, fits precisely, and appears heavy-duty enough for even a full-time Toyota mechanic. It might be overkill for a punter like me working his Prius, but that's OK. It's a joy to use a quality tool. The special tool for un-staking axle nuts is surprisingly handy. In the past I have just used a small pointed punch, but that can be a little fiddly. This one makes the job easy and foolproof. Just insert it in the gap, whack with a small sledge a few times and you're ready to spin the nut off without damaging the axle threads.

A necessity
Axle nut locking via bending is one of the stupidest Toyota designs. But let's face it: there's nothing we can do. So, at some point you will have to buy this or similar tool. First I tried to unlock a nut with a chisel from a big set of chisels bought in a local hardware store. It did not work. I nearly damaged the nut. Then I bought this tool and it worked perfectly. Yep, it's expensive, but it's a necessity. And if you think that you can find something like this in you local parts store, you are very mistaken. Sellers in my area have never heard about it.

Exactly what I needed but $$
Item was properly packed. Worked very well for RAV4 2008.Socket is long enough and would work with impact hammer.Chisel is a little narrow the bent part still stripped some metal from the axle. Wider one would be better.Instructions would help. - both way to hold chisel needed.

Great for Toyota/Lexus cars
Great tool for Toyota/Lexus cars. Chisel works great and fits Toyota/Lexus axels perfectly. The socket is impact rated and seems made to last. I wish it came in a small storage case and not in 2 thin pieces of plastic.

High Quality and Got The Job Done
I'm regular guy that enjoys attacking car repairs when the need pops up and when my '07 Camry needed a wheel bearing replaced I had to get past the axle lock nut.I couldn't find the nut remover locally so I jumped on Amazon and thought I found a good one when I purchased this one from Schley Products, Inc. When I purchased it, it was around $40. It was more than I wanted to spend but when the package came and I saw the quality and weight of the product I at least knew I got a five star kit.The fit was prefect on the nut and locking/unlocking tool was a huge help and worked like a charm!

Chisel missing upon receipt.
Mine arrived without the chisel, so I never got a chance to try it. Since this tool is over $40, and the socket is available locally for about $17, I'm returning this incomplete tool, and will try the job a different way. The manufacturer of the tool needs to staple all three open sides of the blister pack to keep the chisel from falling out. This 30mm socket fits ONLY the factory installed 12-point nuts. Guess what? The new 6 point nut that comes with the axle is bigger...I used a 1-1/4 to tighten the new nuts. Sooo...if you're using new 6-point nuts, this becomes an expensive one-time tool. To get past the missing chisel, I purchased two square shaft keys at the local hardware store for 80 cents each, then sanded the top into a chisel point. The home-made tool bent after a few strikes, but got the job done.

The pri tool is the perfect size for lifting the indentation on the nut so ...
Replacing the hubs on a Toyota vehicle is a fairly expensive venture (if done right.) In my opinion go ahead and spend the extra $35 or so for this tool and do the job right. The pri tool is the perfect size for lifting the indentation on the nut so that the axle bolt does not become stripped. The socket is a very well made tool and will last for a long time. For me personally, this is hopefully a one time use only tool; but it was so helpful, I will keep it just in case I run into this problem with my hubs again.

Great solution to a dumb problem
Of course, Toyota/Lexus in their greatness, decided they needed a non-standard head for their axle nuts. With that said, this tool works great for a bad situation. During use, it tends to pop off as the head for the nut is pretty shallow. Not a fault of the tool as they're working around the crappy design of the nut. Perfect for the job on an '02 Toyota Prius
