Dark, Compelling, and Spine Tingling!
Hello Gemmies! I have an entertaining new book review to share with you today. There Are No Saints by Sophie Lark is the first book in the Sinners Duet. Wow......this book blow my mind, I really loved it! Have you ever read a book that stayed with you long after you finished it? That's how I feel about There Are No Saints. This tale captivated me from the very first page. It's thrilling, spine tingling, sexy, disturbing, passionate, and macabre. I'm shocked at Sophie Lark's ability to make me both love and hate a character the same time! It is a true testament to her storytelling skills. Now for the story, what can I say without getting into spoiler territory? There Are No Saints follows three artists. Two affluent artists who also happen to be serial killers. And one struggling artist who captures their attention, and not in a good way. What follows is a rollercoaster series of events that will have you clutching your pearls until the very end. Our characters deal with childhood trauma, anxiety, obsession, and acceptance. Make no mistake there are no morally grey characters or heroes here. These characters are damaged and a lot of the content in this book is very heavy. The pacing is perfect and it never lets up which adds to the readers sense of danger. You will finding yourself needing to stop to take a breath! There are several trigger warnings for this book including lots of violence, child abuse, sexual abuse, and of course consensual steamy scenes.I would be remiss If I didn't point out the world building in this series. Set in modern day San Francisco, we are thrust into the heart of the city's art scene. We get to see both the affluent and struggling side of this industry. The city as well as the art makes for a dramatic backdrop to the overall story. The incredibly rich details of the art work, daily life struggles of the characters, and the surrounding neighborhoods makes you feel like you are a part of the story. I found myself fully immersed in this world.I'm so in love with There Are No Saints and I cannot wait for the finale book to drop in December. If you are a fan of dark thrillers with sexy vibes give this book a try. Independently Published, There Are No Saints is available for purchase from all major booksellers. And if you have Kindle Unlimited.......it's free! I give There Are No Saints 5 out of 5 gems. I'm looking forward to reading the conclusion of this story. Happy Reading!

Gritty and satisfying
Mara is a starving artist. Cole is a wealthy, successful artist - and a killer. When Mara survives a lethal encounter, she catches Cole's attention. But is she protege...or prey? This is a rich and gritty story with a lot of uncomfortable elements. Serial killers and barely surviving poverty battle with erotic tension and beautiful art. Very dark, very edgy.

Artists & Serial Killer in San Francisco
The writing is outstanding and drew me in from the first chapter. I chose this book/series after seeing thousands of reviews across social media platforms and wanted to see what made it so special. Sophie Lark is a gifted author and her words pen a story that’s deep, dark, gritty, artistic and haunting. The trigger warnings are warranted!! The creep factor is strong and abused characters are plentiful.I liked all the references in San Francisco as I’m familiar with the City. Weaving into the story Art is brilliant and it paints a cryptic picture that no other medium could. Artists are stereotypically odd the characters in this story fit the description to a tee. I like that Sophie Lark has included NeuroSpicy characters. She’s created an alluring main character that is strong and capable and on a neuro-spectrum without definition. It’s relatable and not ostracized as different but more mainstream as it is in real life.I will definitely read book 2 and look forward to learning if the serial killer(s) are caught or not. Who will be the next victim? Will Mara start following her intuition? Is Cole’s way the best and is he truly protecting Mara or playing a game? Will Mara’s art continue to gain traction and how will it change her or her future? So many unknowns and I’m ready for the adventure.

I loved it just wanted more
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 / 5⭐️Okay besties so , after unpacking this book I wanted more. More of Cole’s background & more of Alster interactions maybe a bit more history on them together. I feel like Cole such a well developed and deep character I just wanted a little more history. But Miss Mara Eldritch? Bada** female who will not go down 👊🏽! I loved her, she was so clear on what she wanted & went after it. Overall it was good & easy read. I enjoyed the plot & the complicated sense of Cole & Mara relationship. The art in this book was to die for btw 🥰! I just wanted a little more of something. (There is a second book I have yet to read so I may be getting ahead of myself here!)🌶️🌶️ / 3🌶️Spice wise I wanted more. This is more focused on the plot than spice ( not that I’m mad about it cause I enjoyed the plot ♥️) but I came in with higher expectation from other reviews I had read. With that being said that spice that was in there? I loved it! It was steamy & fit the characters personalities 💚.

So much fun.
This book had a very interesting start but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is definitely your clique stalker romance so if you like that sort of thing you’ll love this, which I did. Add a dash of serial killer as well. I really like Mara and relate to her in a lot of ways with her struggles with mental health. I hope to see her get revenge in the next one. I also love that she doesn’t take anything especially from men and wants to get her power back. Cole is for sure a psychopath and gives major Joe vibes from You lol. But I really like him and how Mara is making him feel things he thought he could never experience… Can’t lie I am very interested in Shaw as well. I hope we get more of him in book 2. How Cole and Mara meet and the way their relationship has transpired has me hooked. Can’t wait to see what happens in the final book of their duet!
