What is PEX barrier pipe used for?

PEX barrier pipe is used for suitable indoor hot and cold water services, heating systems and general plumbing pipework when installed with compatible fittings.

Can this pipe be used for drinking water?

Yes. LavaTap PEX barrier pipe is WRAS Approved for suitable hot and cold water services, including drinking water applications when correctly installed.

Why does the barrier layer matter?

The barrier layer helps reduce oxygen ingress in suitable heating systems, supporting reliable pipework performance when installed as part of a compatible system.

Which fittings should I use?

Use compatible push fit or compression fittings for the selected pipe size. Use pipe inserts where required by the fitting manufacturer.

How should I cut the pipe?

Use a suitable plastic pipe cutter to make a clean, square cut. This helps the pipe sit correctly inside compatible fittings during assembly.
