One + One: Hats: 30 Projects from Just Two Skeins

This delightful book published by Lark is filled to the brim with wonderful hat patterns, many of which I'd like to knit. All of the patterns can be knit with two skeins of yarn.The book is divided into sections: Simple Stitches, Lace, Stranded Colorwork and Slip Stitch, Cable and Bobbles, Side-to-Side and Bias, and Double Knit.Dotson Hat is knit with Artyarns Supermerino and is easy to knit up. Eleganza has a real flair and is also to knit. It utilizes the same yarn as the previous hat. The Drawstring Hat with a Little Splash is knit with Artyarns Silk Rhapsody and is in a lace pattern. The Swirl Hat is also lace and is knit with Artyarns Cashmere Glitter. The Bobble Hat is whimsical and unusual, certainly one I want to knit up soon. It is knit with Artyarns Supermerino yarn.I could go on and on. The gist of the book is that it is an ode to the wondrous possibilities of Artyarns with hats designed by different designers. It is a great book, especially for those who have knit hats previously.

I like the patterns alot, but the Artyarn yarns are super expensive. I've sure the subsitutes are not the same. I"m still looking for yarn that is cheaper.The beret shown on the color has mistakes in the pattern. I learned of this through customer reviews, where one lady asked for the correction, which the author gave.

Great styles have not made any yet but sure look good. I do think you can't be a beginner knitter for this book. I like to watch tv and knit but don't think it would be wise for me with most of the patterns here. But I am not a fast or great knitter so I will need to focus.

There are a lot of very interesting patterns, some rather complicated and rather challanging , but on the whole i liket it.

Great pattern book with lots of fun designs and a nice techniques glossary in the back.

I like several patterns in this book. I plan to make a few hats for gifts soon.

I have made quite a few hats out of this book. I live where the winters can be brutal and people like getting hats. This book has come in very handy for new ideas.

The book has some very different patterns and I want to try them all. So often there is just one or two items that appeal to me, this one is loaded with them.,

I was looking forward to seeing this pattern book. I immediately picked one pattern out of this book to make. Sideways Pinstripe Beret. Don't get me wrong , I am a very big fan of Woolly Wormhead designs, but this is so poorly written and illustrated in terms of incomplete and confusing instructions, with errors, and a chart that isn't worth illustrating as it misses out W&T stitches because they can't be bothered to fully chart it out. Which becomes apparent by Row 5! People buy pattern books because they like the designs and they want to knit them. Why publishers can't be bothered to check the writing is beyond me. I'm not going to bother to try out any more in this book. I've wasted enough of my time on this already. A waste of money in my opinion, so don't buy.

I read the reviews and knew the patterns all used circular needles, but although I'm a fairly good knitter, I found the one pattern I wanted to knit used complicated instructions and I gave up and reverted to an old pattern. I would say this pattern book is for very experienced knitters.

Interesting patterns and techniques and a great addition to my knitting books. A very good buy and will be used again and again.

There are some very interesting hats in this book and I will probably make some of them. The thing I didn't realize is that most of the patterns use two types of yarn held together. Now, one thing I really hate is knitting two strands held together. It's just something that bugs me. So, I probably won't use those patterns and if I had realized that before I ordered the book I wouldn't have bought it.

This is a lovely book that has a good selection of knitting patterns of hats within it for all ages. It has clear and easy to follow instructions. Definitely worth a buy.
