Mashiro promised his girlfriend, Miho Azuki, that when both his dream and her dream of becoming a voice actress come true, they will get married. In this volume we meet Nizuma Eiji, the rival to Mashiro and Takagi. He is the same age as the boys but he is closer to getting his manga serialized. Mashiro and Takagi also visit the Shueisha headquarters and get themselves an editor! (look out for the other Shonen Jump titles on posters, magazines and such) Just like the first volume, we get to see Ohba's and Obata's rough storyboards for Bakuman at the end of each chapter. This is helpful to anyone to hopes to become a mangaka. The only bad thing about Bakuman are the female characters. I just can't seem to like them at all. But Bakuman definitely has potential to become a favourite among manga readers. It gives DD something to engross on, and being funky (read back to front and right to left) they also have an extra appeal to kids.
