Q: I just got mine and barely anything comes out of the lid without using a straw. Please help

My understanding is it has a small area for liquid to come out so when you have something hot in the cup it comes out slowly and not fast so you do not get burned.

Q: Is the silicone base attached? Mine just arrived and it's not attached. Defective?

It's removable for cleaning. You should be able to slide it back into the slot on the bottom. If the silicone piece is missing altogether, then it's defective.
