Don't Breathe ? .... Don't bother.
Not sure what film the other reviews were watching but it can't have been this snore fest.Would have made an OK episode in some series, but just not enough meat for a full film. The only character I even had the slightest empathy with was the dog, which ended up locked in a car.It is quite difficult to review because I don't want to give the plot away, in case anyone has run out of sleeping tablets and decides to rent this instead. But, once you have been ' shocked ' by the surprise premise that is pretty much it ... BTW shocked is too strong a word, that would imply it elicited some sort of emotional response. The acting is OK, the cinematography is OK. Luckily I saw it as part of my Prime membership, would have hated to spend money on this.Thin plot, boring action, predictable ' tension ' .... Just don't bother.

Decent suspense thriller with a sprinkling of horror
Jane Levy and her gang of burglars can't resist taking on a job that can potentially yield hundreds of thousands of dollars. They just need to burgle the house of a blind ex-army soldier who apparently received a large compensation payout when his daughter was 'accidentally' killed (i think in a road accident) by the daughter of a very wealthy family. However, things don't go anywhere near to plan as the blind man puts up way more resistance than they could have possibly expected. After breaking in, they try and find where he has hidden the money but he wakes up and gives them hell. Don't want to give any more away but be assured of many shocks and unexpected moments in this original( I think) thriller from the creators of the Evil Dead. Only minor flaw is the cliched horror moment when someone should be dead after receiving horrific injuries but, of course, they never are.

Don't B̶r̶e̶a̶t̶h̶e̶ Shout Too Loudly
Funnily enough, I watched this due to having trouble sleeping one night, and despite what some reviewers are saying about this being a 'snooze fest', the film actually kept me awake even more, but not for any edge of the seat thrills or anything like that, it was because of the frustratingly blatant errors in it.Spoilers ahead...The film was just beginning to get interesting, then the first 'bad guy' gets killed, and sadly, any sort of credibility bites the dust along with him.Let's start at the beginning: A gulf war veteran gets blinded by shrapnel, he's medically discharged and subsequently receives a 'six figure' payoff, his daughter ends up being killed in a road accident, and he becomes a recluse in an old house, which happens to be the only occupied house in an entirely derelict neighbourhood. Three hoodlums learn about the veteran and the payoff, who then begin to suspect that the money is being stashed in the old house, so they decide to rob it in the early hours of the morning. So what is actually wrong with the bad guy getting killed? Well, nothing, he was a bad guy, so therefore expendable, but it was the way that he was killed that ruined the entire flow of the storyline. The veteran stumbles on the intruders trying to rob him, he then grapples with the one bad guy who has stupidly brought a 9mm Berretta with him, he then turns the handgun on the bad guy and shoots him in the side of the head...So here's one of the dumbest mistakes ever written into a movie; this is a blind guy who relies on his heightened sense of hearing, and he's just fired off a 9mm Berretta round less than eighteen inches away from his ears.DOH!It doesn't end there though, the veteran empties the clip of the Berretta within the confines of the house, and what does he do when there's no more bullets? He goes upstairs, picks up his revolver, and repeatedly fires it off in the small cellar, only stopping now and then to listen out for the intruders breathing.Good grief! They really should retitle this movie to something like "Don't Shout Too Loudly"Now if you managed to suspend your belief up to this point, you're going to be stretched to the absolute limits with the rest of it, because not only has the veteran got self-silencing ear drums, he's clearly got a titanium skull too. During the film he gets a bottle smashed over his head, he takes two full blows from a sledgehammer (one causing blood spatter everywhere), he gets repeatedly struck with a crowbar, and then falls from the first floor and smashes his head yet again.Just when you think the credibility torture has ended, you'll hear a newscaster announcing at the end of the film that the veteran only received minor injuries. It's absolutely no surprise to see that a sequel has now appeared on Amazon Prime.Enjoy!

Creaky Floorboards
This isn't the kind of film I would be expecting to compare to the silent movie tribute The Artist but both of these films have something in common which is a brilliant and very effective use of sound. It's the use of sound or it's lack of use that adds so much tension in the film. Every creak of the floorboards or unexpected noise has the viewer holding their breath. The story revolves around a group of teenagers who are breaking into homes to get together enough money to leave town. They then make the mistake of targeting a blind army veteran who has a very dark secret hidden in his house. Really tense thriller, well worth seeing.

Nothing wildly original but a gripping slice of escapism
Home invasion thriller set in bedraggled Detroit - three kids decide to rob a blind Iraq vet who is rumoured to keep a huge stash of cash in his house - seems like an easy score, right?A good twist that isn't easily foreseen makes this film a cut above the usual, and the director knows how to ratchet up the tension.

A twisted tale of greed and revenge
The film itself is disturbing and dark Three characters break into a blind war veterans home to steal his money he received as damages [I can not say anymore on this without spoilers].All the characters including the blind man have their dark side. The actors actually did a really good job in this movie so worth a watch for that.i would recommend for adults only as some scenes are really disturbing to watch

Scary
This movie has you on the edge of the seat. It runs at a pace which keeps you engaged. There are some violent scenes. Watch it with the lights off. It's about a gang who go into a blind man's house to steal his money. What they discover is far worse that what they intend to do to him. Will they survive? How long for? WIll they get out in this scene? Will they get out in the next scene?
