Woodstock Chimes Neptune Wind Chime for Outside 54" Large Evergreen, Deep Tone Sound for Outdoor Garden, Patio, Porch Decor, Encore Collection DCE54

They sound great. Not too loud, but they chime subtly with slight breezes. A nice lower register tone - like church bells. We live out in the country a ways back into the woods - very quiet. These supply a delightful sound, but without sounding 'noisy.' The tail rotates quite easily and sometimes rapidly in slight breezes which adds a nice visual. It also catches the wind well. Today we had a tropical storm passing through, and though you could definitely hear the chimes, they were not annoying, and the structure of them was sound. They are well built and neatly built. The tubes appear to be cut with a precision; no raw edges. The string that goes through the tube passes through a sleeve of plastic or some such substance - so the string is less likely to be cut, and the metal of the tube can ring freely w/o the variability of the string's tension from one direction or another. The string appears to be wrapped around small nails with heads on the underside of the top piece of wood. Very neat and in a symmetrical pattern, not just randomly stapled into the wood. The sound is exquisite. I don't have a lot of expertise in chimes but we have a few of what we thought were nice ones (aluminum tubes). This set sounds better than anything we have. The sustain is longer, though it dies to a low volume that just continues longer. So not annoying, but sustaining. The musical ratio of the pipes sounds like it is playing a few notes from the beginnings of songs from time to time. I will definitely be getting more from this series, as they are tuned to one another. Pros: Great tone Well built Beautiful to look at. High quality throughout Cons: Nothing except maybe some preferences. The wood is 'red.' And that means red. Not a paint red or fire engine red. But a good dose of red stain. I'd prefer it a bit more subdued. We'll see what the weather does to it. Our house is natural siding, very earthy. This does blend in with it just fine, but more subdued might be preferred by some. Hard to describe color, but definitely a few shades redder than clean red mahogany furniture stain. That said, the wood is very nice; nicely shaped, smoothed, and finished.

I have been wanting these chimes for a while now, finally purchased for our garden remodel and the sound is so calming. The sound is incredible, great quality and beautiful addition. I could listen to it all day.

Woodstock chimes offer audio samples which are very true to the sound you will get with their chimes. My Neptune chimes are as expected: a full, calming sound, not high pitched or frenetic at all. They are hanging within my pool cage and still receive enough breeze to chime for a few seconds at a time which is quite lovely and not disturbing or overwhelming at all, even when I'm out there enjoying a book. If I want sound from them more often or longer, I can hang from a tree.

Great sound and quality made product. This is our second Woodstock Chimes. These chimes harmonize perfectly with our Chimes of The Eclipse, both from the Encore collection. The Neptune Chimes have a deeper tone and longer chime than the Eclipse Chimes which is what we wanted to complement each other. We have also given these chimes as a gift to family members.

These chimes are amazing! The sound they produce is wonderful! Very melodic yet random. The tones are deep and rich. The volume is loud but not overbearing. In a light breeze they whisper, strong winds have them singing. They’re tuned to a pentatonic scale so they harmonize beautifuly! They are large, 54 inches from hook to sail. You’ll need a strong support hanger that is stable. You don’t want the hook part to move around, just the wind catcher. Each aluminum tube is perfectly tuned by computer. They (Woodstock) guarantee tuning for the life of the chimes. The Woodstock website is very helpful. You can listen to the different sounds of each chime and there are many. Amazon only has a few available. Some are less expensive but again not as many choices. They have so many products too, from gongs and bells, sun catchers and even some musical instruments! It’s worth visiting Woodstock’s site. I live in Brooklyn, NY. Two short blocks from Prospect expressway, between two F train subway stops and under a direct landing path to LaGuardia airport and countless first responder sirens. This is very noisy place! These Woodstock chimes are the best sounding music amongst a symphony of noise! I’m looking forward to building my collection! Great for gifts as well!

Waiting for the perfect gorgeous melody isn’t the point. It’s being there for the perfect gorgeous melody. Fleeting and rare. Even the not so perfect melodies are rich and deep.

These wind chimes are great. We had already bought this same brand elsewhere but they are a smaller set. This one is larger and has a much deeper tone. We love them. They appear to hold up quite well in the weather and they look really nice. I’m looking forward to seeing how well they hold up over time after being outside for a season or two. As of now though they are great even though they are a tad bit expensive.

Chimes are a very personal choice to the ear. Woodstock Chimes are finely tuned and the sound incredible. I went on the Woodstock Chimes home page where you can listen to the different sounds. This "Neptune" choice was just right for my ear. Absolutely outstanding.
