This back seat car extender dog bed is sturdily constructed. It was extremely easy to install in the backseat of my Santa Fe. My 73 pound Catahoula leopard dog seems to love it. She can sit in it or lie down easily, and is better contained than just having a regular dog bed, so that she is not likely to fall out upon braking or turning the vehicle sharply. If your dog jumps around a lot, there is also a leash that can be attached to keep them in the bed. You can add bedding of your own to make it more comfortable. Ours is almost like a nest. The sides zip down so that the bed is easily accessed, although my dog just jumps into it. She has more room in the back seat without taking up the entire back seat. am very happy with this purchase, and my dog seems to be too!

Perfect size for my 65lb Labrador. This seat feels sturdy and well built and has so far held up well to multiple long road trips. He loves how secure it feels, the extra seat room it gives him, and how it keeps his bed/blankets from falling off the seat. I also like that it leaves a seat open in the back seat so we can still carry an extra person and he doesn’t infringe on their seat space. The floor of the seat is pretty firm so we put a thick bed in the bottom and that solved the problem. The sides are somewhat inconvenient to zip and unzip every time he gets out but he can easily jump in and out over the side using the open seat next to him, but it’s nice to have the option to unzip and makes moving the seat form car to car relatively easy. Despite how easy it is for him to get in and out of the car seat he definitely prefers riding in his car seat over the regular seat. Overall I really love this seat and plan to buy another.

Should have read the critical reviews more carefully. Zipper is bad quality and seems to get stuck constantly. Base is super hard and also slippery so dog doesn’t feel secure despite the harness. Also the dimension does NOT match what’s written in the description. Will have to return.

I've purchased a lot of dog carriers for my Bronco and Jeep. This is by far my favorite one when I'm transporting one dog. My Aussie loves it because he feels secure and doesn't move around so much with sliding. The harness it comes with is nice so my dog doesn't sleep out like he typically does. At first I thought this product would be a scam, but it's real. So for all of those who are questioning on purchasing this, it's so worth it and I wish I saw a review like this when I was contemplating it.

This is a nice size and has more than enough room for my 50 lb dog. He’s not the best traveler though and when he moves to the front of it while pacing about, the back lifts up a little. It also sits on an incline due to the seat position and that causes him to slide around since he stands the whole time. It doe confine him nicely to one side of the backseat though so we are continuing to use it. I’m going to put something more grippy for him to stand on.
