My grandson preferred to bite these!
I can't make a thorough review because my 18 mo old grandson didn't use the toddler palm crayons once during his 13 day visit (for the purpose intended). He hadn't yet been introduced to crayons at home so I thought coloring was an obvious inexpensive choice that might hold his attention for at least 20 minutes at a time during his visit. It should be noted that I also purchased a set of the traditional fat crayons and the new egg shaped toddler palm crayons because I wasn't sure what he'd prefer and he's the oldest of 3 grandchildren so I was certain they'd all be used in due time. I put all of the crayons together in a bin and sat next to him with my own piece of paper then chose one of each type for myself then scribbled something with each as he watched intently. He continued to watch me scribble, going back and forth between each type, while he ripped about 10 pieces of paper to shreds, then without warning he picked up the traditional fat crayon. Our first coloring activity time (including the riping) held his attention for over an hour and at no time did he use the other 2 newer palm crayons which have been made specifically for toddlers. The egg shaped he quickly threw each time he picked one up and the crayons belonging to this set of palm crayons he'd put in his mouth; nearly all have teeth marks in the tips. I left all of them together in that bin, put the lid on it and put them in a bigger basket with all of the coloring books on the floor in his designated toy / activity corner. Several times a day during his 13 day visit, he'd pull out the coloring basket and bring the crayon bin to one of us to open; each time he chose the traditional crayon to color with; although he tried to bite the egg shaped crayon a few times he always threw them and he never once did anything with the crayons belonging to this set of palm grip crayons but put them in his mouth.

Perfect for little hands
Bought these for my one-year-old. I was excited to start exploring art with him. He was instantly captivated by these crayons and gradually learned that they can be stacked, nesting inside each other. Now when we do "art" he spends a lot of time simply stacking them. He's only 14 months so he's just fascinated with exploring how different objects look, feel, and work together. The crayons are very easy for little hands to grip, and he has only broken one so far (in almost 2 months of almost daily use), though they have all fallen on the floor countless times.I love these crayons because the colors are vibrant and you get a good variety of colors with the set. They are shiny and smooth, and the color does not rub off on your hands. I would definitely buy these again. Highly recommended!

Multiple use crayons :)
My son just turned one and I was looking for a safe, easy to hold crayon for him to learn how to color and also practice his fine motor and cause and affect skills. These are very easy for him to grip and the color comes out bright. He uses these to practice coloring and to also practice using his pointer finger. He sticks the bulb onto his fingers then takes them off. Off and on, off and on lol Oh they are also durable! He gets pretty rough with them and of course they have been thrown, stepped on etc and they are still going strong! Great crayon for new artists :)

Best first crayons
As a pediatric occupational therapist, I highy recommend this as a first crayon for scribbling. The shape of the crayon easily fits inside a little hand that can be held in a fisted palmer grasp pattern ( whole hand grasp) ,(a more mature radial palmer grasp (morebmature hand grasp of the thumb, index and thumb fingers against the palm), and facilitating separation of the thumb side of the hand from little finger side of the hand for achieving increased mobility of the fingers from a stable base of the hand. The crayon also promotes index finger isolaion as kids love to poke their fingers in the hole (you may need to stuff tissue in the holes to get kid to focus upon using them as drawing tools. The crayons stack so it also promotes bilateral coordination (one hand needs to hold the column for stability, while the other hand manipulates and stacks the crayons to stack them). For toddlers, and preschoolers, I recommend giving them a very large piece of paper so they can scribble away. I also recommend positioning the child on their tummies while scribbling or drawing to faciliate wrist, forearm and shoulder stability, needed for increased arm/ hand control. These crayons can also be used to teach cognitive skills of color identification, sequencing eg. First stack the blue crayon, then the red one). They promote visual motor coordination, visual perception and attention to task. Great product.

Non Toxic, Crayons for toddlers
Great little crayons for a toddler. They are pretty small, not even as long as my fingers, which originally was a disappointment to me. I couldnt believe how small the box was that they came in when I knew there were 12 crayons inside, but he disappointment quickly went away when I saw my little girl play with them. They're a good size for my one year to color with (might be a little bit harder for you as an adult with bigger hands if you're coloring too, but managable!) And they also stack inside of each other, so when she isn't coloring she entertains herself with stacking and unstacking the crayons. Another bonus is that they say they're safe over 2, non toxic and edible crayons. Obviously you shouldnt let your child just eat crayons but it makes me feel a little bit more at ease that if she does manage to stick it in her mouth, she'll be safe.

Works great for small hands
Purchased these for my 14 month old son. They are well made and durable, survived many drops and throws. He loves to stack them and take in and put of box. He is now 21 months and starting to really use them for coloring. They work well for him easy to hold and use. I would buy them again.Only drawback and it is minor is the coating makes it hard to draw at first. Very minor inconvenience and vastly outweighed by all the other benefits. Once they are used a few times much easier.

Good stacking crayons for toddler
Bought them for my grandson. He just turned 1 1/2 and he prefers stacking them than coloring with them. I color with them when we are babysitting him. Then he will try t9 color too. We have fun. He likes putting them away.
