My dog is very strong & I wanted a short lead for when I need to keep him close to me & under control.I did have one previously with a very short length of chain, but the chain was very thick so it was very heavy & not ideal for using on his face harness as it was like having the weight of half a bag of sugar hanging off his face.This item is just a padded handle with a clip so is ideal for me, as my dog is 29" high or hip height. This would not be long enough for a small dog, so please understand what you are buying - it is not a conventional lead.My dog has a tendency to pull - I've tried numerous harnesses & anti-pull devices, but the final straw came the other day when I picked him up from the groomers & he damn near broke my arm.He is such a big coward that he can't wait to get out of there & to the safety of my car, and he practically rips my arm off as soon as I go to leave, dragging me out of the shop.On this particular occasion, I had barely opened the door to leave when he bolted through it & slammed my forearm against the metal frame. Let's just say that I had to apologise to some other customers due to the profanity spewing forth, due to the pain in my arm.That does it - I need to get something to prevent this from happening again as he is starting to injure me now.So, I invested in a new harness & the shortest lead I could find, so he doesn't have the length to leg me up or break my hand when it gets crushed because I have to wrap the excess length around my hand multiple times & he's yanking it, just to try & have him under control.This handle is ideal as now I clip it on the back of his new harness, so it is attached between his shoulder blades, which means I can keep him close & stop him dragging me around.As I said before, it's not a long lead at all - it is literally a handle. You can, by all means, attach it to something longer, but if you wanted to do that then you may as well buy a longer lead. This item is designed for attaching to something that you don't need to have a length on, so it would not be suitable to attach to a collar of a small dog, but it would be ideal to clip to something such as a head collar of a horse or a large animal, to allow you to lead it somewhere without needing the length.Also with it being short, it's easy to store in a pocket or bag if you want to let your animal run free, or if it's attached to something out the way (like on my harness where it attaches at the back) you could even leave it attached as the dog won't let tangled up in it but it allows you to grab it quickly if needed.For me, this is ideal for walking the dog to/from the car or a short distance where I need to keep him close & under control, rather than when we go out walking, where I can allow him his regular lead. It's perfect for control & quick to undo or clip on to the ring of the collar/harness. It's small enough to fit in the glove box or side pocket of the door panel, my pocket or bag, yet big enough to not cut into my hand if the dog pulls.PROS:• Easy to use• Lightweight• Gives good control over an animal• Good Padding• Easy to hold• Strong stitching• Ideal length for close control• Clip is strong & thick metal• Super quick to attach/detatchCONS:• None I have foundVerdict:5 stars - great product. Sturdy and excellent for the job

Holds a lot of strength

The media could not be loaded.  Bought for big rescue dog with unreliable recall. This feels strong (even for 35kg dog that’s seen a squirrel) and gives plenty of freedom while knowing they’re safe. Great training tool and doesn’t seem to knot or tangle as much as our last one. Also a bit more mud and waterproof as it doesn’t soak up mud. Happy

Good value for money

The lead is flat and therefore can cut into your hands partially if it’s sliding through them as your dog moves away quickly. The handle/holder part would benefit from being more padded. I bought a pair of cheap leather gloves to use with it.

Adoro questa lunghina perché mi permette di tenere sotto controllo il cane senza sganciarlo. E' lunghissima ed è come se il cane fosse libero, è robusta e impermeabile. La consiglio soprattutto in campagne e boschi, è comodissima. :)
