Super Book
I bought this for my 15yr old son. He is not academically gifted. He studied this book, done lots of the tests in timed conditions as well as the ones on navy website and he passed the psychometric test . Also got a high enough score for his chosen job Weapons Engineer, 2 guys from uni did not pass. A real thumbs up for this book. Would recommend to anyone. Just going to order the interview one from Richard.

It helped me pass my test, but it does have issues with the print.
First off I want to say that this book is great preparation for the pre-joining test. It covers a wide range of the questions you are likely to see.Secondly the reason I will only give this book 3 stars is that there were multiple issues with the print. Maybe it was just my copy, in which case I would say that there needs to be a more thorough quality check in this book. It was rather major stuff as well. Most notable of which was the answers to certain questions being wrong or the questions repeating themselves twice in a row etc. Needless to say If I had done a question wrong but the print says it is correct in error then it could mean the difference from doing the job you want, especially if it requires a high pass rate.I reckon that anyone looking at buying this book to practice for their test should. But double check the answers that the book says are wrong. Normally a quick google search is enough.

Agree with other reviewers
I agree there are a few errors in this book. The thing I found most annoying was the confusion over mass and weight. I bought it because I could notfind much Iin the market place to support doing navy entrance test and many reviews were positive. Despite the issues I would do the same again, that is to buy it. Most issues are with the mechanical section where feet are used for length measurements, I would expect the use of metres for modern day. I have found a cd that also has the issue with mass/weight, this concerns me.

Navy book
Useful to start to prepare but didn’t match up to the difficulty of the actual test.

Good preparation
This is a good book with relevant questions with answers. The questions aren't challenging but give you an idea of what's to be expected. There are errors in answers on pulleys about mechanical advantage, but otherwise it's a good introductory book.
