You dont turn it on you connrct it to your phone or computer, make sure tp push it in all the way, There are no controls on the headphones, if you are using these with an iphone you will need an adaptor , I recommend this pair, you get 2 at a decent price and they are pretty sturdy:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6PTFHRQ?th=1
