It looks like a quality product, especially with the brushed white paint. However, out of the package, it was already chipped in some spots.Additionally, the shorter part that latches on the one I received wasn't parallel, which made it almost impossible to slide into the latch. As a solution, I had to angle the second piece. At the moment, I still can't slide it all the way in, but enough of it fits to provide some level of security.I wouldn't trust what I got for home security, but for child proofing, or for an inside lock, it's fine.

added these to my storm doors and couldn't be happier. the provided screws worked well installing into the door, i did use separately purchased 4" screws to make sure the other side was screwed to the house frame instead of just the door frame. they're solidly built and that they come painted is a plus.seriously though, replace all your doors' screws with 4"ers

Bought 4 and no response to return request. Don't see any indication that they don't exchange or return but I requested as required through Amazon's email service and got a big zero for response. Amazon really makes you hunt for your mailbox and I forgot to follow up before the return window expired and am out $45. Not a very good experience. The wide variant will not work on sliding screen doors unless the frame is quite wide. Just a bunch of paperweights now unless I undercut their prices and sell them myself.

This is a sturdy latch. And the company, Harry Engert Company is a joy to work with if you have to. My original order was the wrong size. That was my mistake. I emailed them and explained my problem, was ok’d to return and exchange it for the next smaller size. Before they sent the smaller size they emailed me and explained measuring so that I was sure to get the size I needed. And this was the only latch I found in a dark color. Great experience.

The are perfect for the closures on the sliding closet doors of our RV. Much classier look that those cheap plastic snap on straps or plastic latches that break. They were easy to install and look great!

I bought this to replace a broken latch we had in a storage building. It holds the left door shut so that it can be locked in place at the top and bottom before closing the main right door. This latch works very well and installs pretty easily.

After purchasing two others I finally found the one that works and looks good on the sliding pantry door in our rustic cabin.
