Dial caliper
It’s a good unit. It measures up.

Works Good
works as intendedI don't need Starett Accuracy -- just need "close-enough" for measuring misc fittings, openings and thicknesscalibrate easy -- albeit, susceptible to "bumps" and light "drops"

It's metal and there's no batteries to run out!
I was so sick of plastic micrometers with a digital display of dubious accuracy and batteries that cost as much as the whole gauge that I picked up this. All and all, it's a pretty solid little tool. Only thing I would have loved more is if it came with a scribe edge. Still, for the price, it's perfect for a garage hack like me.

Exactly what I was looking for
This is very easy to use and was sent promptly and well packaged in its own box inside a box.

Not very smooth, will not hold zero
Movement is not smooth. I’ve cleaned and just seems the teeth are rough. If I open and close 5 times, I get 5 different readings. This will work for general purpose stuff.

excellent
I work at a local manufacturing company. Most of my co workers have their own pair to use and I am glad that I purchased this model. I even had it certified for accuracy. When you first get it, there is a light coating of an oil like cosmoline. This is normal to prevent it from rusting and use a lightweight oil, not wd30 either. There is a little bag that comes with it, re-use it, it'll help. It's not bad for the money and better than the plastic ones for longevity.
