Q: Oil resistant and heat resistant?

It's rubber cord. Not sure if you mean it will seal and not absorb oil? It's the same material rubber orings are made of. As for heat resistant. I'd assume to a certain degree. It's rubber, solid rubber. No kevlar, fiber reinforcement, no additive. Plus, it's so thin it's not going to resist a flame. For sealing a hot water faucet valve, yes. Nothing over 200 degrees I'd say. Because of its small diameter.

Q: What type of rubber is this? I will be trying to glue it.

I used hot glue on it, but a very small bead. I'd not use any glue that has anything like acetone in it. I'd say it would depend on the glue.
