Cute hat, but not durable. Came smashed flat in a little bag. The velcro was ripping off on the sides too. Took a while to try to get in back in shape. Wanted to return, but I lost the bag that it came in.

This arrived wrapped in a plastic trash bag which while odd is not the end of the world. The red tie fabric is super rough and there is no way to remove it completely without also removing the lining and then reattaching the lining which at that point you are diying a hat. Its also nowhere near as dark as in the provided pictures, its a much lighter brown but the aged effect is good.Our big issue is the size. This is a very small child sized or my child has an unusually large head, but considering any other child sized hat fits him my money is on the hat.

This was too small for my 4 year olds head. The material is flimsy and doesn’t hold shape well.Returned for a new hat from a different company.

So my 3-year-old loves “Baby Shark” and somehow found “Baby Shark” Halloween version on YouTube (it’s currently May). He really wanted to dress up like the pirate shark in the video. We compromised and I ordered him a hat and an eye patch, and told him he could wear a shirt he already has with a shark on it. This hat surprised me with the quality. For the price, I expected something more flimsy, but it’s actually quite sturdy. I like that it has positional wiring in it so you can reshape it as you like and it holds its shape. I also like that you have the option of velcroing the sides up. Overall, I’m pleased, but only giving 4 stars since it doesn’t actually fit only my 3-year-old’s head very well. He has a large head (98th percentile), but he fits into bike helmets for 5-year-olds, so I would have assumed a “Child’s Caribbean’s Pirate Hat” would fit. I may try to cut it and add some elastic or something, because overall, I think it’s a great hat!

The hat is nice and can be easily molded to look how you want it do, but I HATE the red string attached. You can't remove it with a seam-ripper because it will also remove the stitching that holds the lining of the hat to the outside, so that's kind of annoying. I cut the dangling string and hot-glued the rest to the inside of the hat as much as possible, but you can still see the red when my child wears the hat. I'll offset that by making him wear a red bandana to match and it should look fine! It really is a good quality hat for the price, though!

This hat was perfect for my toddler, it is comfortable enough so that he will wear it for long periods of time.I like that you can pack it away and reshape it with the inner wires.I just don’t like the bright red velvet trim that hangs down (supposed to look like a scarf but it really doesn’t), it looks cheesy and isn’t flattering to the hat. I wanted to cut it off but my 3 year old didn’t want it cut off. Oh, well.

Ordered this for my son's 4th birthday party. The hat was just a little on the larger size for him, so it will probably still fit for another couple of years. It has a wired/mold-able edge and you'll have to reshape it once it's out of the packaging. There are small velcros attached to the sides. It's easiest to detach them, reshape and the stick them back together once you have the tricorn shape back. The red fabric band isn't a great feature, it's just there... The material has a worn leather look and isn't too thin. Has held up so far to all sorts of pirate adventures for several months.
