It works well and it's well made, but I don't see myself using this unless maybe I wanted to resist some candy or chocolate, but I'm of the mindset that chocolate should be enjoyed! I'd also worry about locking electronics in there, in case of emergency. Or medication, in case the timer gets set incorrectly and then you can't get to your medication. There are too many people in my house for me to automatically assume that that could never happen. 4 stars because it does what it says it does well. I think that in terms of value, the box could have been a bit bigger.

UPDATE: Does not work in the cold (i.e. refrigerator -- box will not release lock until it is at room temperature which is very disappointing as I can't lock my Cokes in the frig)I asked my husband to order this because our son will be moving out soon and could use this lock box to lock up meds. However, for the moment I am using this box to lock up 2 of my Coca-Colas in the frig!! I know it seems silly, but for now this is the best use of the box. My adult kids keep taking all the Cokes and never put new ones in the frig so when I want a cold Coke there isn't one. I actually do have real problems, but my 12 pm Coke is often a highlight of my day. I got so frustrated I locked up two Cokes in the box for the timer to go off at 11 am. And I hid the rest. Again, this sounds silly and when my son moves out I will give the box to him. Also, I really could have used this when the kids were younger to lock up their cell phones. I used to have to hide them somewhere in the house but then I would forget where I hid them. Sigh. Anyway, this box is sturdy and easy to operate. And for now it will protect my Cokes. :)

A great way to limit spending habits or eating habits.

This KSafe Timer Lock Box for Phones, Snacks & and Medications is Really Cool. It does exactly what it is supposed to do, and the setup is quite simple. I wasn't too sure how it worked at first, but once I put the batteries in, I understood that two pieces came out and basically locked it in place. You would literally have to break it to take anything out before the time runs out. Another thing that you may want to be careful of is turning the dial while the box is already on a timer because you could potentially add more time, but it has such a great design to it counts down from five before the timer starts. Say for example if you have 30 seconds on the clock and you turn the dial you can restart the timer without opening it but you cannot bring down the time. It's very cool and very useful, especially if you want to start disciplining yourself away from any temptation that you may have from donuts to your cell phone. This is a very cool time-locking safe.

I got this to help my family portion out their drink sticks usage, rather than using them all up in a day. It does work pretty well for that.The unit is all plastic. The base and lock tabs are very thick and sturdy. The battery cover is not very sturdy. It's pretty thin plastic and pops off if you put any pressure on it.The unit is very easy to use. Just turn the knob until the required timer is set. You can do minutes, hours, and days. Then push the button down and it's set. You do get a 5 second grace period to stop the lock. After that, there's no unlocking it until the timer stops. The instructions say you have to call the company for direction on how to break the base. You can then purchase another base from them. If the batteries die, it won't unlock, you have to break the base according to the instructions.This box has worked well. I will say, my son was turning the timer knob, dropped the box, which pushed the button and set the timer. Fortunately, we were able to grab it and reset it before the 5 second grace period ended. The unit has a cord hole to plug in devices locked in the box, but honestly, I wouldn't trust myself to not set the timer wrong. I wouldn't put important electronics in it.
