No regrets
This thing really came through for our group out west. There were multiple spots where we couldn’t have fires and this solved that problem. It’s Safer, no messing with wood (labor/cost/hauling), and no smoke smell all over us and our gear. I carried a 20 lb. Tank and it lasted for days. It put off enough heat to warm all of us on those crisp mornings in the Rockies as well. A bit of a sticker shock with the price, but it turned out to be worth every penny.

Powerful, Convenient Fire Pit with One Annoyance—Short Hose
I recently picked up the Ignik FireCan Elite FirePit, and overall, I’m thrilled with how its changed my camping and overlanding experience. Instead of lugging around wood, axes, and all the mess that comes with a traditional fire, I can just turn a knob and get cozy flames in seconds. That said, there’s one frustration: the propane hose is too short.First ImpressionsSturdy & Compact: For a portable fire pit, it feels rugged without being too heavy. It’s easy to store and transport.Quick Setup: Attaching the hose and igniting the fire pit is straightforward—no fumbling with lighters or kindling. We keep an electric stick light stored inside the can on top of the Ignik firerocks.Performance & FeaturesHeat & Fire Output: The flame is powerful, producing plenty of warmth to keep a group comfortable on cool nights. The fire output is quite impressive for a pit of this size, even on low.Ease of Use: It’s a breeze to turn on, adjust, and shut off—perfect for those who just want to relax around a fire without the prep or cleanup.Clean & Convenient: No more hauling firewood or dealing with ashes. Once you’re done, let it cool, pack it up, and you’re good to go.The Hose IssueShort Length: The included hose is too short for my liking, limiting where I can position the fire pit relative to the propane tank. This can be inconvenient if your setup requires a bit of distance for safety or layout reasons.ProsPowerful Flames: High heat output keeps everyone warm.Compact & Portable: Easy to store in a trunk or garage without taking up too much space.Low Maintenance: No smoke, no ash—just turn it off and let it cool.Quick Ignition & Shutdown: Takes seconds to light or extinguish.ConsShort Propane Hose: May need an extension if you want more flexibility in how and where you place the pit.Fuel Consumption: Higher flame settings can use up propane quickly (though this is expected with a powerful burner). After an extended weekend, propane consumption was noticable, but not abmormal when pairing with a propane camp stove. My family of two can make a 5 gallon tank last about four or five weekends of normal use and keeping the pit on low/med.Final ThoughtsDespite the minor annoyance of the short propane hose, the Ignik FireCan Elite delivers on convenience, heat output, and overall ease of use. If you value hassle-free fires for camping or backyard gatherings—and don’t mind investing in a longer hose if needed—this propane fire pit is a fantastic choice.Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

More than for camping
I have a little terrace area upstairs at my house that I like to keep clear of furniture most of the year. During the winter I bring this little Firecan up there with a propane tank and watch the sunrise in the morning. I've also taken this thing to friends houses and sat on the porch with it -- "somethings bringing the fire to you is WAY better than having to move to where there is fire," one of my friends said that and I was instantly grateful that I pulled the trigger on this one. Yes, the firecan will warp a little bit and the edges will charr -- but it's held up to around 50 hours of use during its first six months with me in a variety of use cases. Look forward to going overlanding with it this year. My advice is to get the lava stones to help sustain the heat and to go ahead and get the Elite version because of the added heat generation. I sat in 0F degree weather with it this winter and it warmed two people no problem. Unsure whether or not the standard version would be able to generate that much heat.

Not enough heat or hight of flame. Otherwise, it is great for the woods fire bans.
Quick set up and easy to use. The flame goes about 1 foot on high. Wish would go higher. A 20 pound propane tank will last on high for about 6 hours. Used it on temperatures of about 40 degrees Fahrenheit and the heat from the flames was not really impressive. However, that said if you need a fire for a campfire on a fire ban, it is great. I had a Firecan set up and a wood fire burning at the same time. Most of the group preferred sitting close to the Firecan since no smoke. I would have rated it 5 stars only if the flame was higher. Also wish the propane line was longer. But over all very portable and ease of use.

Love the size.
I like that it is stainless and small because I can fit it inside a fishing tackle bag and it all fits with my camp stuff in the car.

Wow!!!!
Wow! This is constructed extremely well. Its small size, ease to set up, adjust, and enjoy - makes this very worthwhile. At 10lbs this is the lightest of 3 fire pits by Ignik. This is all stainless construction except for anodized lid. Fit, finish, and operability are excellent.I was just at Flagstaff where several people had these with temps of high 30s-low 40s, it helped keep several people keep warm and provided a wood fire ambiance. I camp a lot and with all the fire restrictions and/nights were the wind is just too much for a wood fire – propane fires are often approved for use. In part due to the cost and my ambivalence towards propane substitutes for a wood fire, the large propane fire pits with a 20lb tank I just kept putting off getting something of this nature. I have now made room for this small fire pit and a 10lb propane tank. I’m sure it will bring many enjoyable evenings and even some warmth when needed. It is costly but far better than anything I could make.
