Tics are a fact of life for kids with Tourette Syndrome (TS) and related disorders. And for most kids, the symptoms of their disorder aren't even the most frustrating part-others' reactions can make children feel anxious and extremely self-conscious. Coping with Tourette Syndrome includes forty activities to help kids with TS, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), or attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) understand, prepare for, and mask their tics. Kids will also learn how to best explain their tics to friends and curious strangers using humor, games, or brief scripts they have prepared. The activities in this workbook address managing TS and related disorders in specific situations, such as at school, at the movies, when out to dinner, on special occasions, when visiting friends for sleepovers or parties, when taking tests, and in places of worship. After completing these exercises, kids with TS will have all the tools they need to handle their tics with confidence and grace in any situation. Review: Great resource for kids with TS - My 12 year old son read through it. He didn't work on the worksheets but he said that the information was helpful. I don't put a ton of pressure on him regarding his TS diagnosis. He's more than just the kid with TS. It's his to address as he sees fit, and this book is a great tool in his arsenal. I'm not going to stand over him and make him fill out worksheets, but that doesn't make the book less valuable. I'm pretty sure he answered the questions in his head, which is the whole point, right? Great book. Review: From a Tourette's survivor about a Tourette's book - My 11 year old son who has Tourette's said it is an awesome book! I guess he would know better than I. So, coming from an 11 year old male who reads 500 page books in two days, says it was awesome & helpful, can only be 5 stars in my book.

Great tool!
I used many of the activities and pages from this workbook when I was working with a first grade student with a suspected tic disorder. It helped to teach him about his body and the kind of control he can learn to have over his body.

Wonderful
My 7 year old was recently diagnosed with TS and this book is perfect. There are plenty of activities for her to do to help her work through some of the emotions she is dealing with and it has pieces that are great for myself and my husband to learn how to deal with her TS. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a child with TS or personally has TS.

Great Book
This is an excellent book for kids with TS. Just looking through it I knew that this would be something positive for me son. He will not want to write in the answers but they are well worded for verbal communication. The coloring and activity pages are short and simple to keep kids engaged for just the right amount of time.

Not exactly what I had in mind.
A little young for the premises. I was hoping it could help my son who is a teenager.

Awesome
This book is amazing. It has truly helped our family to more fully understand TS. This book has helped our son to feel a part of a community instead of being an outsider in a "normal world" Thank you so much.

Hats off to a fantastic tool
My son has Tourettes and the tics that he has were non stop. This book is a fantastic, therapeutic way of working with your child. It is in sections and gives a brief story from a child with TS perspective as to how they cope with their type of tic or verbalisation. It means that the information is coming from fellow sufferers and children and not from professionals telling your child "how it is". The book prepares your child and helps them cope. Id recommend this for anyone, especially if your child is struggling to come to terms with their condition. Well done Sandra Buffolano

Ok but not what I expected
This wasnโt what I expected and I feel itโs aimed at slightly younger children. My son is 15 and not much good
