Good quality! Squirrels seem to like it!
UPDATE........ No fault of this house but I never got any tenants. Until today when I saw a grey squirrel moving its young, carrying them from a different tree into the owl house. So now I have new residents but not the ones I’d hoped for. But the owl house is nice, you just need willing owls!I received this very quickly after ordering and waited for a bit of warmer weather over Christmas week to mount it. The door swings upward which makes mounting it a little awkward (trying to keep the door open while on the ladder) so bear that in mind and start the screws in the 4 pre-drilled holes before climbing up. I mounted it about 20' or so high and put dried leaves and small twigs in the bottom before closing the door. It looks fine up there and we are awaiting residents! The build quality seems quite good and it comes with some pointers on the best way to mount it to attract screech owls. They are around us somewhere as we can hear them (and also Great Horned owls) so I hope we get some tenants soon!Just remember to prop open the door and pre-set the screws before ascending your ladder with your owl house and drill/screwdriver.Happy with this purchase.

Best House On The Block
Best of the Best Quality in Bird Houses. This purchase has many years of use because of the very excellent quality. The house is pre-drilled and ready to install. I installed mine on the South East of my deck. I hope for the best next year during nesting season. This is my first time with a screech owl. We were fortunate to have other larger owls last year further away in the trees.Tools Needed: You just need a method to secure it to a surface, tree or otherwise. I own two houses, a #1 screw head with 4" screws did the job for me for the tree mount, and a 3" screw for the deck mounting for the second. Mounting is particular to the site; so be flexible. Carry belt and ladder may be needed, and ask for assistance if your up on that latter.A few Amazon Customers complain about other non-owl species taking refugee - this is nature, so be ready to deal with these situations. I have a dozen bird houses around my property, sometimes the birds you want move in other times not. You will never get a screech owl if the conditions are not acceptable.Rating: This is a top quality box and made with the finest materials.. I wish my home was a nice.

Great quality, well constructed and fun to see "who" moves in...
I ordered this back in October 2015, but my husband didn't get it put up until early spring of 2016. Once in awhile I go out and see a squirrel sticking his head out, which would really irritate me. (Don't the squirrels know this is an OWL house?) Ha ha. We live in north Texas and I've heard that there are a lot of screech owls in our area and that they are good for controlling mice and rodents.Lately, we've heard the pretty shrills of a screech owl in the evenings, but never actually saw one. Then last night at dusk I was in the backyard and looked up. There he/she was. The most adorable screech owl. He hung out there for at least an hour. So excited that someone moved in.

It takes time for the owls to move in :)
The box arrived in good shape, well made.It was a bear to get this box up in the tree and installed! Very tricky. We only received one box, so we made another to go with. My son had said the owls typically want a box for mom owl and a seperate box for owl dad and close together. So after getting both boxes placed in our huge old oak tree , we waited. For six months nothing. Thn all of a sudden we had a squirrel family living in it. Didn't mind, but the kids (we have 4)we're a bit disappointed. Fast forward almost 3 years later....finally we have an owl in our box!! Kids over the moon happy today..took awhile but they did eventually find it.Think the squirrel family helped the owls discover it, haven't seen the squirrels in a long time.( Eeeeeek)

Nicely made but probably not worth the price
Nicely made but probably not worth the price. Sure hope the owl loves it! Will be upset if no one moves into it!

Well made
Very pleased with the quality of this box. I'd watched a Youtube video on it where it was said that the only thing it lacked was a ladder inside for the owlets. Happy to report that mine does have one. The comment that additional holes might be needed to mount on a tree without a huge trunk was appreciated. I drilled 2 more between those that were pre-drilled before scaling my tree. Now I just have to hope that a Screech Owl takes up residence.

beautiful home for anyone who decides to take it!
Just received the beautiful house and am very pleased at how well made it is. It truly is a beautiful birdhouse. I am somewhat surprised that it didn't come with any mounting screws or predrilled holes for mounting. Other than that..gorgeous! UPDATE: Sorry, I finally put on my glasses and lo and behold it has predrilled holes for mounting, just no hardware. So now I am more pleased than ever. Wonderful home for critters. UPDATE II: Had this home out all summer and only a few squirrels went into it. This morning lo and behold an owl was on top of it hooting away! Amazing! I am so excited. It really does draw them in!

Took a few years but we now have babies!
Finally we got “Bob” finding our box we put up on a royal palm tree about 20’ up! It’s been up there for a while so I was so happy to have a tenant! Came out this morning and saw her baby peaking out at me! 💕 love this box! Btw, I have another bigger box on the tree next to it and she choose this one! Edit: babies getting bigger and now I want a nest camera for next year!
