Confusing instructions for me. So had to get help to fit it. Works as well as I expected, as I've already had this 1 before. Great the lid opens okay Good value, good quality item, a good name

Well built, seems more substantial than my old Brabantia bin. Fits in the cupboard well. But I do miss the carry handle on the lift out bucket. Would recommend

Good quality bin and is exactly what I wanted. Was concerned it wouldn't fit under my sink, but the actual bin lid does not need to lift up in order for it to work as designed, so there is some leeway. I had two goes at installing it. Took about an hour. As others have said, the instructions are poor (Brabantia's cupboard doors appear to lack hinge mechanisms...) Key manoeuvres when installing: Familiarise yourself with all the steps included in the instructions several times before starting, but I don't recommend doing them in that order. You will need a drill, ruler, pencil, screwdriver and pliers. Take the plastic liner out the bin to make it easier. There are three brackets - the larger metal one acts as a hinge, the smaller metal one mounts the lid, and the small plastic one is used to pull the bin with the cupboard door. Keep checking at EVERY STAGE that your cupboard door will close. Make sure you take into account the cupboard's own metal work - not just inside the cupboard but also on the door. This is key, and where I messed up the first time. Cupboard units may be joined with screws. These can be moved up or down if they get in the way but will need new holes drilling. As your doors will likely possess hinges, you will need to mount it higher than in their diagrams. You will also need to map out in pencil for the cupboard door bracket (more later). 1. Position the first bracket high enough so that the plastic pegs don't hit your hinges/soft closing mechanism. The soft close mechanism in my kitchen comes off quite easily to give more working space. Only drill the first one of 4 holes (inferior and anterior) when installing the first bracket - then CHECK THE DOOR CLOSES. If it does, do the other 3. 2. I would then recommend putting the bin in situ using the two plastic pegs (they can be removed easily using pliers or fingers). Check door closes. 3. The other metal bracket supplied acts as a template. Use that to know how far ALONG the cupboard door to place the two screws for the plastic bracket. 4. I pencilled dots at various heights using the template and joined them to know how far ALONG the door the screws needed to be at. If you want to check that the bin lid will fit in your cupboard, the metal bracket can then be screwed in place (straightforward). Don't clip the lid in just yet (just gets in the way). 5. Position (by holding) the small plastic bracket on the door and slip it under the bin's bottom groove, in order to know at what HEIGHT on the cupboard door it needs mounting at, by drawing a horizontal line in pencil across the top of the plastic bracket. Drill the holes using your previously marked lines. 6. Take the bottom peg out the bin, and then slip the bin's groove onto the door's bracket, then put the bottom beg back on again. Clip lid in place....and hopefully, voila!

Now that it is installed I am delighted. The door opens so I can easily drop waste in without making the lid dirty. It is very easy to change the bag which fits perfectly. However, installation was a little difficult. The instructions tell you to drill holes about 10 mm from the bottom of the cupboard. They do not realise that the chuck of a power drill will not allow you to drill that close. I realised that you do not need to attach the bin that near to the base of the cupboard, in fact I raised mine up 100mm which is more convenient height for the bin. This meant I had to do some careful measuring to accurately place the holes. I do have some experience and the tools to do this. Some people may not and need help.

Really nice quality as you'd expect from Brabantia. Be careful when fitting to really take your time so that everything fits perfectly. After the first stage in the instructions where you fix the main bracket to your kitchen unit I'd recommend temporarily attaching the bin unit to the bracket so you can check the positioning of the bit that screws to the cupboard door and the level of the arm which the lid attaches to. Also check that the part that attaches to the cupboard door clears the kitchen unit ok when closing the door fully, I had to adjust this slightly to be perfect. The lid closes tightly every time. Great design as the weight of the bin is not on the door at all. £35 is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Recommended.

This bin does exactly what it says on the tin. Smart and functional.

Previous versions of this bin had a raised lip over which lid came down and gave a good seal. The lip has now gone and lid just rests on top leaving an air gap through which unpleasant smells can escape. A terrible design change and I hope Brabantia may be able to see this and take note!

I think the title says it all. It's lucky that I count myself as a 'handyman' and have additional items of door furniture to assist me with the installation of the bin, as the diagrams are about 85% helpful and 15% confusing. That the bin can be fitted either left to right or right to left is good. Given that the lid is spring-loaded and requires the door to be firmly shut before laying flat across the top of the bin, this is not an intuitive action in the design. That is because the spring that holds the lid up when you open the door, actually presses against the rim of the bin, so I have had to install a magnetic catch to keep the door closed. Without it, the door remains ajar and the lid raised, letting out any residual smell from the contents. I bought Brabantia, as it is a reputable make, but the designers and fitters went out to a late lunch on a Friday afternoon before a long weekend with this set of instructions & design. To have a full written set of instructions for the installation, would help those that are not confident DIY'ers. Good luck to you all.

Capiente, solido, igienico ed esteticamente molto valido, assolutamente superiore alle tante pattumiere da incasso in plastica in commercio. Richiede un pò di tempo, attenzione e di precisione nel montaggio (leggere bene le istruzioni, occhio alle misure e allo spazio disponibile), ma il risultato è completamente soddisfacente. Consigliato.
