Thinking of trying one in a solar hunting shack.** A: I just checked the road pro on the go (typed all together) website and it is 12 VDC at 8 amps for 96 watts. This will work fine while driving (alternator providing power) but will kill a car battery in no time if the engine isn't running. I have 110 watts nominal solar going into a vmaxtanks 125 amp-hour deep cycle battery, so with plenty of good sunshine I can use solar energy to power it and have a little to spare. If it is cloudy, though, the panel efficiency drops about 20% so then it would slowly drain my battery. In theory my fully charged battery could power this for about 15 hours. So, if you have about 125 watts of solar or more, and perhaps 200 amp-hours deep cycle capacity or more, and good sunshine, this baby is for you! **Q: For those who use this in a moving vehicle, how do you stabalize it or keep it from toppling over in case of sudden stops or turns?** A: We put it in a box on the back seat floor it seems to be the most stable place for sudden stops! **Q: I just grabbed one of these from pilot. Can i make a whole Cornish hen in it, or does it not get hot enough to penetrate (giggity) meat that thick?** A: Oh no, you should be able to get that done no problem. Throw some veggies in there with it! Just know that it runs VERY hot, so most wires powering a cigarette lighter are pretty weak gauge wiring and can cause problems. I would recommend running a stronger, larger gauge wire either to that lighter or install a new input for yourself. We did that and the thing is now perfect. The first problem we had after using the cooker 3 times was the cigarette lighter plug was getting too warm and started to melt.We changed the cigarette plug for a more capable anderson plug with a separate inline fuse. After this replacement the slow cooker was still not functioning. After opening up the slow cooker we found out that the internal wiring was totally burned through.We think it is a very good product, but very much under-designed. The wiring is not capable of the high amperage that the slow cooker requests.I've seen the inside of this cooker, and I have to say that this thing is very cheaply made and is not worth 46 pounds. The cigarette plug is not heavy duty enough to handle the 8 amps it draws, and the 18 gauge wire on it, is very small to run 8 amps through.Love the idea of the slow cooker, but would not recommend this type to anyone. ### ⭐ Cheap and nasty but at high price *by J***N on 3 February 2017* Purchased this item in June and have used it a number of times without trouble til now 6 months on its burnt out. Very cheaply made as is identical to a Morrisons own brand for £10 which would with a small inverter be a better option.
