How you get them is how you keep them !
I'm sorry to say that I was not moved by this story of a truly selfish woman. Yes, she suffered violence at the hands of her husband but I don't doubt that such events are common occurrences in many marriages. This is a woman who selfishly conducted an affair with a married man while she was at the time married to a good Muslim husband. When she realised her honour was in tatters and she was soiled goods, she pushed her lover to marry her. She broke the heart of her lover's wife by coercing him to divorce her while the poor woman was pregnant. She then dumped her first child on her first husband so she could swan off for a new life with her politician husband and she wonders why she was beaten throughout her marriage ?She is tormented by mental childhood scars and the fact that her mother favoured her lighter skinned sisters. She is tormented by her sister conducting an affair with her husband. And throughout the book she leaves him, goes back to him, has more children, turns her first child away on more than one occassion because she STILL hasn't sorted herself out.Look readers, if you want to her of a woman overcoming adversities, struggles and suffering in Islamic societies then try Not without my daughter by Betty Mahmoody, Burned Alive by Souad, The Stoning of Soraya M by Freidoune Sahebjam or Sold by Zana Muhsen. This book is great if you are interested in Pakistani politics otherwise give it a miss, it really isn't worth it.

Great
A truthful account of an oppressed woman in a golden cage. Many fingers will point at her and her mistakes, we are all humans and therefore prone to err. What I find so ignorant and sexist of other reviewers is they fail to acknowledge her suffering, what is a greater sin is that they fail to scrutinise the man who is the oppressor in this true life story. No one raises a finger at him, why? Because he is a man and allowed to please himself as he wishes without any questions raised. To those reviewers who have given this poor reviews, all I can say is - shame on you.

The real Iron lady
Sensational, well written, short of soft porn. We will never know what was the real thing, but she suffered a lot if true, and she is indeed a real iron lady to have survived all this.
