Retro clackity clack!
Retro Vibes, Modern Performance – My New Favorite Keyboard! Okay, so I've been eyeing this 8BitDo Mechanical Keyboard for a while, and I finally pulled the trigger. And let me tell you, I'm absolutely loving it! First off, let's talk about the look. If you grew up with Nintendo or classic PC gaming, this thing is pure nostalgia fuel. The NES/Famicom color schemes are spot on, and the little joystick/dial thingy on the side is just brilliant. It's not just a gimmick; it's surprisingly useful for volume control or scrolling, and it just looks cool. It genuinely makes me smile every time I sit down at my desk. But it's not just about aesthetics. This is a genuinely good mechanical keyboard. The keys feel great to type on – responsive and satisfyingly clicky (I went for the clicky switches, obviously!). It's comfortable for long typing sessions, and for gaming, it's super precise. I've used it for a mix of retro emulators and some modern PC games, and it performs flawlessly. The connectivity options are also a big plus – wireless (both 2.4G and Bluetooth) and wired. I mostly use the 2.4G dongle for gaming to minimize lag, but it's nice to have the flexibility. The build quality feels solid, like it's going to last. Yeah, it might be a bit more expensive than some entry-level mechanical keyboards, but for the unique style, great performance, and sheer joy it brings, it's totally worth it. If you're a retro gamer or just appreciate unique, well-built tech, you seriously need to check this out. It's become my go-to keyboard.

Buy this keyboard. It's awesome.
I love this keyboard. The Famicom styling is ace, and it just feels so nice to type on. The keys have really satisfying sound to them too. I've yet to find a use for the big buttons, though, so they're still in the box.

Amazing keyboard
If you don't mind that this is American layout, this keyboard is amazing. There is not a single person who has used my keyboard that hasn't commented on how nice it is to type with, though I did have some comments about how noisy it was. The hirigana on the keyboard also isn't just for show, I downloaded the windows language pack and have been typing in hirigana to practice my japanese. The super buttons have also been a life saver at times, quick to map commands to and massively sped up my work.

Excellent!
I'm making a return to working from home on a more regular basis so thought I'd use some Christmas gift money to treat myself. I wanted the NES coloured one but could never find stock at the time, so opted for the one in the Famicom colours. They keyboard is sturdy, looks fantastic and has a great feel to it. It is a lot for a keyboard, especially when you aren't gaming with it - but I genuinely think it's worth it.

US keyboard layout only, but still great
Great clicky keys. The programmable buttons took a bit to get used to, but was able to program them without difficulty. Wasn't sure about the big buttons, was against using them at the start, but good lord they are SO satisfying to press. I can't press them gently, I NEED to slam my fist onto the button

It's not a proper keyboard if you couldn't kill a man with it. Decent build quality. Nice clickty-clack sound. Reminds me of the old school keyboards you found attached to green screens and chunky workstations in the 80s and early 90s.

Teclado muito bom, utilizo em casa e no trabalho. Só requer um pouco de atenção de novos usuários por seguir o padrão americano

I was looking for a wireless mechanical keyboard on the cheaper side and I am absolutely happy with my purchase of the 8BitDo Retro keyboard. The retro Famicom design is super charming and I adore the haptics and the satisfying sounds from typing on keyboard. On top of that, you get two programmable keys on the keyboard and an extra device based on the Famicom controller with two buttons that are programmable keys as well. That is great value!
