Zach Apologizes (Zach Rules Series)

I can't say enough about this book. Apologizing has always been hard for my 7 year old son. This is the first strategy that has allowed us to actually talk about the situation, find a solution and gain some empathy for the other person without him getting defensive. We use the technique often. It helps me cool down too, which makes me a better parent!

My son has behavioral and neurological problems that make it hard for him to put himself in others' shoes. I purchased this book and the other Zach book in the series and he actually asks us to read them to him. As parents, we have even tried the methods Zach's parents teach him in the book. Reading about apologizing and seeing pictures about it, (rather than him just listening to his mom and dad urge him to apologize) has broken through a barrier with him. It's not a simple fix, but it's a good tool to help facilitate the process.

This book gives kids a nice script and process for a good apology. It offers a nice opportunity for discussion and the lesson would transfer easily to home life. The story and characters are easy to relate to - I purchased this for my 6 year old daughter.

Just read Zach Apologizes and thought it was a great book for parents and kids. It really gets the child to think about their actions and hopefully prevent them in the future! The four square apology was a great idea and I can't wait to implement it with my kids. This is a very valuable parent tool that your kids will also enjoy.

Give a practical, usable way to apologize which includes restitution. It's simpler than what I've used in the past, (5 sentence apology), and easy to use. Helps kids think through things and it's all done in a way that is non-threatening and not preachy. Love it. Use it a lot in my practice.

Great book! Awesome to help students understand the how to apologize rather than​ just saying "I'm sorry."

Excellent book. Students enjoyed the story and the four square apology is a simple and concrete way to help children understand how and why we need to apologize.

A superb book to introduce the concept of saying sorry to your children. I tried it on my three year old and it made a huge impression. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !
