Seems to Work Well
I had to use a male-to-male extension to fix this to my mixer tap but after it was done, the results were well worth the effort. I'm also using a showerhead with additional filtration and 5 shower settings and the water pressure is even better than the Blu system I was using previously. Skin and hair feel cleaner and healthier. Recommended

Better water, but a learning curve with leaks
My son and hair was immediately softer after we started using this. Definitely takes some getting used to when you have lived your life with hard water. It leaked a bit at the top for the first couple of weeks, but we were able to use some extra tape to re-install and some of the leaking stopped. Then we learned that the shower head you are using with it needs to be free of hard water build-up, so you need to soak and clean it with a de-scaler and then you should be able to avoid leaks!

Not the same
Most of the reviews are for the older plastic housed version (pre January 24’) which used a different better type of filtration cartridge. Although the new version is much sturdier than the previous iteration (I went through three of them over a couple years) the filtration is entirely different and I would say almost non existent. The new cartridge style only contains carbon pellets much like you’d find in an aquarium filter. This new version does nothing to deal with minerals in the water or hardness. It’s questionable how much chlorine can be removed with one pass over the carbon pellets considering the contact time is so short. The problem with most water sources that prompt people to consider a filter is water hardness, not simply chlorine levels. Unlike the previous version the water will not feel any softer and basically feels the same for hair and skin as if you weren’t using a filter at all. Even worse the new version SIGNIFICANTLY affects water flow. I would estimate it reduced my water flow by about half and I have strong water pressure. If you live in a state that requires low flow fixtures I would expect this to be unusable. In summary this filter does almost nothing which is a shame because I like the overall style of this filter which raises the shower head a few inches instead of extending the length. Not sure what GE was thinking here.

Lasted less than two weeks.
The sandy material inside the filter ends up clogging the filter screen within days of use. Lasted less than two weeks. Creates a sludge that can be found nowhere else in my home but I waited too long to return it.
