This was just what I needed!

I recently replaced dozens of light switches in the house with Lutron Casetas, upgrading from a mixture of non-smart ones, and wifi-based Wemo ones. What a difference to both reliability and latency! Transformational.Turns out that there is a world of difference between "Alexa, turn on the lights" working almost always to working absolutely always. Control latency is low, the Lutron mobile app is surprisingly fine, Apple Home and Alexa integration just magically works EVERY TIME.No complaints.

These new Claro switches are a significant upgrade than my original GE/Jasco smart switches that are consistently failing. The switches look great with the screwless wallplate and they feel high-end. I also like how clean the Lutron App experience feels during configuration.

I’m sure it’s great like my other Lutron smart switches. However why does it need a neutral wire when the dimmer doesn’t need one? Either I hire an electrician to wire up a neutral wire or place a dimmer switch on a light I’ll never dim. Seems unnecessary and is certainly annoying.
