Like a previous reviewer, I found accessing the case screws difficult because of the door, but a small screwdriver and perseverance worked. The bus bar mountings feel a little flimsy, and there isn't a huge amount of space in which to get a mains feed and 6 outlet cables wired in.

Used for several months now with no issues. Small enough to be inconspicuous but provides all the power requirements for a constantly used garden building.

I have put this in my workshop and it is a great quality unit with lots in it for the money. My electrician was very impressed with the unit and the cost.

This item arrived well packaged & when opened looked very smart. I have not yet installed the unit but appears to be standard fittings. There are no cut outs around the box which would have been expected. Removal of the face plate is a little delicate as 2 of the screws used to secure the unit are hidden behind the door hinge. You can get to them but it's a bit fiddly. The door is secured with a spring latch which can not opened by young children. The earthing bar can be pulled out making it easy to install both the live & neutral wires & secure the unit to the wall. I was a little disappointed that it was not a metal box, particularly given that it will used in a garage. However, the 2 32amp circuits is the main reason for the purchase & I guess if I had looked closely at the description it might have said that.

It’s not often, if ever at all, I have to return products to Amazon. The quality and description of their products, as well as the reviews, are almost always spot on. Alas, with this product, Amazon are letting themselves down. Here’s why. The product does not have any knockouts. Which means the only way cables can enter/exit the consumer unit is if you drill your own 20mm holes, which in a soft semi-rigid case is not easy. Furthermore, the space available inside the consumer unit is very limited, meaning even after you have drilled out the cable entry/exit points, there is very little room for the cables – most especially at the top of the unit, which is where your load supply cables need to be after installation. The unit doesn’t come with any installation instructions either. Before anyone thinks if I need instructions then I shouldn’t be installing this unit, that’s not the reason for wanting them. I like instructions because not all consumer units are built or installed in the same way and I like to know what those differences might be before starting the job. It avoids expensive and inconvenient mistakes being made. I am returning the unit and I have brought a better-quality product from a UK manufacturer. This product in undoubtedly made in China. My recommendation: don’t buy this product. PS: regarding the issue about this being a plastic (and thus combustible) consumer unit and therefore not compliant with the 3rd Amendment to BS7671: 2008 Requirements for Electrical Installation (IEE Wiring Regulations, Seventeenth Edition). It will only be compliant if the consumer unit is to be used outside of a domestic building (e.g. a garden shed or outhouse) or mounted outside of a domestic building.
