Absolutely Wonderful. A very different golf book.
I just love this book from cover to cover! First, understand what this book is not. The subtitle might lead you to believe it is another guide to making your game or score better. It is not in my opinion. I guess in some stretch of the imagination it is, but it is really a more fascinating scientific breakdown to the perfect golf game. If you like science and actual facts and how they influence physics and performance, then you will love this book also. It is simply but nicely illustrated. It is the type of book that you will find yourself skipping around section to section depending on what catches your fancy at the moment. There is a great deal of information presented and it will take you a while to get through the entire book. I highly recommend this for serious golfers who like to think about the game.

Scientific golf
What an interesting book on golf. This is not an instructional book per se, but it includes information that will be useful in lowering your score. For example I loved the chapter on quiet eyes. Although this idea was aimed at putting, I am using it on all my shots. It has greatly improved my ability to hit the ball with the center of the club face and on the right path. Browse through the book. The chapters need not be read in order. I found that the book gave me a lot of info that I had to digest for a while. So I only read a couple of chapters at a time before taking a break. In short, I very much enjoyed it.

Finally, a book that makes sense about golf physics
This is a very interesting, easy to digest book. I read it on a Kindle app on a tablet. Some of the pictures and graphics are difficult to read due to the small and non-adjustable font on the graphics. But the content is very informative and it isn't so much physics (with formulas and math) as it is logical explanations of how various aspects of golf work. I really enjoyed this book as it helped me undertand the effects of wind and golf ball spin better than anything I have read. Chapters and topics are just a few pages each, so it is easy to read in small time increments.

Interesting studiy of the golf swing
Studies of the game not limited to the mechanics but also including the mental side of the game. Including practice habits that are beneficial to better golf. This book takes homer Kelly's golfing machine to a new level. Sure to be an interesting read for coaches as well as players and even those non-golfers interested in bio-mechanics.

Useful information, awkward writing.
The authors provide interesting facts. The illustrations are great. Unfortunately, the book is awkwardly organized and poorly edited. Most annoying to me was the ugly combination of singular antecedents with plural pronouns: The golfer who uses their nine iron . . . The golfer who uses their best judgment . . . Some passages were so painful to read that I had to skip them.

Science vs emotion
Science to help the logical golfer; unfortunately the emotions hamper execution! Excellent insights into the physics of golf. As the gathering of statistics grow these types of books will make fascinating reading.

Overall good book
Very cool book, but can be hard to understand. A lot of great pictures. Nice to have all the research compiled into one book.

very superfiscial
This was very disappointing. The authors bring up various questions which they invariably fail to answer. It would be better to propose what the best evidence favors rather than just skip on to the next issue. As an example, they ask "how should practice time be spent" . A great question. However the response is useless. I could get a better more informed answer from a non golfer. And the rest of the book and chapters with different authors were no better.

A little bit too much mathematics
Whilst I can appreciate that maths is a vital aspect to effectively understanding all the detail behind a good golf swing, its far too dominant a point and there's little advice to take to the golf course.

Up-to-date info and well presented
Enjoyed reading this book. Being in the golf industry I already had a good understanding of most topics. However a reader with no previous knowledge of the subject might find it a bit difficult to understand at time. I liked the layout which has plenty of illustrations to accompany the explanations. Good reference list for those who want more detail on each topic.

Not helpful
Not much help to the club golfer

Now I know why I am useless
Gets to the nub of the science. With this knowledge one can only get better - please! Onwards and upwards - well not too high - that's one of the problems.

A must for every golfer's coffee table
A fascinating insight into the science behind golf. There is lots here for the beginner to the pro. Beautifully presented diagrams and pictures. A great gift for a golfer keen to improve their game or just curious about how it all works.
