I got this along with a couple other CVC games to create a learning station in my kindergarten classroom for early finishers. This was in my top two favorites for several reasons.1.) The size and shape of the letters -- they are sturdy/solid and easy for little hands to manipulate without help. This makes the game ideal for independent learning (though the kids love it when you play along, too!)2.) The cards are solid and coated, almost like oversized playing cards, so they don't rip or bend easily...which is good when kids get excited and start trying to take cards from each other, etc.3.) The color-coded letters (blue for consonants, red for vowels) reinforces they're learning and their understanding of the alphabet.4.) The self-contained case is durable wood, making it easy to clean up and keep all the pieces together.This is a great set that the kids love and that I'm sure I'll use for years to come. Great value for the money.

This is a great learning product! My son loves learning new words and spelling them out with the letter tiles. I also use it as a great tool to keep reviewing his letter sounds. My only problem was that where you set the card it goes too low and you are not able to see the word only the picture. But other than that it's a great tool for learning.

This is fantastic way to introduce your little one into the world of words and how to spell them! I love the simplicity of this set and the difference in color for the vowels and consonants. My boy enjoys the time we spend together while doing this. Recommend you give this a try!

This is a convenient way to introduce letters and spelling to your kids with a quality made product. The consonants are blue and vowels red, just like in Montessori classrooms with moving alphabets. My child is in a Montessori school so I love that how they are working with letters at school we can mirror at home. The cards are durable and the letters are quality wood as well. I personally love the box it comes in because it keeps things organized and (hopefully) will keep us from losing any of the pieces. The 3 squares for the letters and the holder for the card is glued into the box which I wasn't sure I liked at first, but after using it several times, I do appreciate that it helps to keep everything organized and streamlined. Definitely recommend for how durable it feels and for the many ways you can utilize it for learning letters and spelling!

This learning game has been a whole lot of fun with my 5 year old. It has helped him learn how to sound out words to figure out how to spell a word. This game is great for beginning spellers as it only has 3 letter words, mostly CVC words. The consonants being blue and vowels being red helps them to more easily differentiate between the two types of letter sounds.I wouldn't recommend this for older children who already have a good grasp of spelling, as they would most likely find it too easy. For pre-K or kindergarten kids, I'd highly recommend this. Learning to spell put basic words goes hand in hand with learning to read.The quality of the game itself is great - the wooden box is sturdy, the magnet in the lid helps keep it shut, and the cards are sturdy, thick cards that won't tear easily.

The letters are well-cut, smooth, and bright and the vowels are colored differently from the consonants which gives them distinction and aids in the child's understanding of the word structure. The cards are double sided and can be stored in a stack where the letters can be seen and referenced, but there is also a slot in which the card you are working with can be tucked to hide the spelling of the word, which makes it more versatile as a tool as the kids get older. This set is a hit! They learn so much from it, but think of it as just another fun toy.
