William Rawn & Associates: Architects, Inc.

A generally well photographed, cleanly laid-out and wisely limited collection of projects.They're very good designs, and you can tell someone came into that office not too long ago and really took the work to a new level.I bought another monograph at the same time, and the two almost couldn't be more different. If the other one was maybe pretentious with its many diagrams, details and (post-facto) hand sketches, this one lacks insight into either analysis or process. There are lots of nice photos and very small plans or sections in a few cases. There are a few flubs too, including one at one of the major seams with a skyline shot that was enlarged far too much, showing heavy pixellation.It's otherwise a good book for high quality images and getting a general understanding of the work, just not an epic tome.
