An updated edition of Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide's popular dyslexia book with a wealth of new material and improved dyslexic-friendly font. Purtroppo c'e' tantissima ignoranza in giro. Questo libro aiuta ad abbatterla Review: Like a manual for the dylsexic mind! - This book has changed my life! Or rather it is changing it now. While I am a success story as a dyslexic, the Dyslexic Advantage has changed the way I now see dyslexia and myself in general. It revealed personality traits, gifts I posses, and why I struggle with some tasks and excel at others and explains the science behind it. I had no idea that so much of me is defined by my dyslexic brain and I now see it as a gift I would not trade for anything. It is as though I found the missing manual to my mind! Spoiler Alert - dyslexia is NOT a disability! And the science has advanced enormously even since the first edition of this book. I highly recommend this book to any educator, parent of a dyslexic or dyslexic themselves. It is a must read and far more insightful and uplifting than the other books I have read on the subject. Dyslexia is an advantage if you can find your gifts and understand them. I knew my gifts and now I understand them too. A huge cloud has been lifted. If only I understood this at the beginning of my career I would not have spent a lifetime hiding it. Now I am celebrating it and even helping my own children. I am eternally grateful to Drs. Brock And Fernette Eide for sharing their research and insights.

Understanding various types of dyslexia
The content is very positive and looks at dyslexia as different ways of processing information. It explains the different ways and supports it with studies and individuals personal experiences. It shares inspiring stories of individuals who are proof that the way they process information can be a strength if understood and applied instead of looked at as a “disability”. It reinforces that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Even those not identified with a “disability” do something’s well and other things poorly. This is true for “dyslexics” as well. It encourages dyslexics dragon their many times untapped strengths and focus on them. It is positive about recognizing and allowing other tools or people with other strengths for help just as anyone else would need to. I could relate and understand myself and my children better! I first listed to this on my Audible account through my Amazon Prime. I found the contents so helpful I bought a physical copy so I can mark it and refer back when needed again for myself, my children, and others. I will use the contents to help other understand with backing of multiple individuals and studies to back the information, as well as my personal experience and that of those I know with these ways of processing information.
