I am always on the lookout for things that help keep fresh food fresh for longer and reduce food waste. The new MasterClass food storage containers are designed just for that and do seem to help.The container is a hard clear plastic outer with a drop in lid. The inside is a green perforated plastic with little feet on the bottom help keep an air layer between it and the outer. Food placed inside is prevented from sitting in moisture and spoiling quickly. One thing I would say though is that any plastic wrapped foods you buy will need to be wiped dry before putting in, to reduce the amount of moisture already present on the outside of it.I did have one problem though – the container is taller than most and I had to move my fridge shelving around to give a large enough space in between for the container to fit in and leave air between the top and the shelf above.

This is a really good container that extends the life of your food.I am amazed at how fresh my mushrooms have remained (pictured 5 days after I opened them); they usually go slimy and wet and I end up throwing half the box away. The only thing that’s not so good is how long it takes to dry after you wash it; water gets beneath the sliding vent (see photo) and took a couple of days to air dry.£20.99 (at the time of review) seems like a lot to pay but it quickly pays for itself as it reduces food waste.

The container on the surface looks good. It's got an air valve on the top that you can close or open for controlled air flow. The inner basket has feet that raise it from the bottom, it also doesn't quite touch the sides either which helps excess water to drain from your fruits and veggies so they don't go bad. You'd still need to take time to drain out that excess water from time to time but this will help keep your food for longer.The plastic used for the body of this container is meant to be durable but it doesn't feel that strong. To add to this, the lid has no rubber seal so the container isn't air right and the lid comes off far too easily. With no effort at all the lid can be removed or knocked off. So you get some air flow through this seam which would render the top valve useless to an extent.The container will work to keep your fresh produce like fruit dry so they should keep for longer. However, the lack of a secure lid that adequately seals out air (even the valve doesn't have any rubberised component to seal air out when closed) and stays on the container is the main reason I've removed 2 stars. When I buy an expensive container I expect a secure lid at a minimum and this lid is loosely fitted. The container is meant to come with a 10 year guarantee so there's some assurance there but I'm still feeling like this isn't a good value purchase and I wouldn't recommend it.

I like this small storage and i use it for other stuff when rinsing out or washing fruit. Defo recommended

I buy a lot of strawberries every year and this will be perfect for just that. The inner part is not just good for keeping the fruit suspended over possible water when washing the fruit but you can also use it as a strainer for when you are washing it. Very convenient! The lid doesn't close shut but instead lays lose on top. That is the only downside I have come up with for this item. The product itself seems very well made though.

This is a nice design. The inner basket is very practical for washing small fruits(grapes, strawberries, blueberry...). It preserves vegetables or fruits in good condition, lasts much longer if kept in theses containers. Saves lots of time when preparing a meal. Easy to clean and they stack on top of each other.

This is a perfect tub for storing fresh produce. The inner mesh carrier keeps the produce away from condensation and allows air to fully circulate, especially as the lid is vented too. The inner mesh carrier is also a handy little colander.Some reviewers mentioned the lack of a rubber seal to make the tub air tight, but that defeats the point of this tub! It's supposed to be vented so air circulates for freshness within your fridge keeping the produce in best condition.

I have been using very similar containers in my fridge for some time now and have found they keep fresh food much fresher for longer than it does when stored in the original packaging or alternative sealed containers.The inner green mesh container allows any accumulated moisture to condensate and fall to the base, whilst ensuring the contents stay dry and don’t sit in the water. The lid is vented to help facilitate movement of air and again to reduce the potential for food to rot.I have found mushrooms, in particular, keep far longer when placed in these, large portobello last for more than a week and sometimes two. I use them to keep salad leaves, peppers, as well as fruit such as apples and pears fresh for longer. They do, of course, use up fridge space, but that is a worthwhile cost to ensure you don’t end up having to throw away spoilt food.Note that the containers have to be hand washed and are not suitable for dishwasher use. I made a mistake by placing a couple of my original set in the dishwasher and they had to be thrown away because the lids warped, so don’t make the same mistake I did. They are easy to wipe clean or wash by hand.
