The Clovehitch boat shoe from Seabago has a weathered leather upper with mesh panels for breathability, padded linings for comfort, and a traditional slotted collar with eyelets to create a nautical feel. Sebago represents authentic products and timeless design. Their original, hand-sewn Docksides boat shoe and Classic Beefroll penny loafer haven’t changed since they first crafted them decades ago. Sebago is a celebration of everything New England…where life in, on or around the waters is a geographical unavoidability. Their shoes are about performance--not just the technical kind, but the way a shoe behaves in its right environment, whether on boats or city streets. Each classic Sebago design is carefully designed to perform at its best.

I had a pair of canvas sebago shes years ago. I gave them to someone in need and I’ve missed them ever since. These shoes are amazing. Super comfortable which is important since I have a torn tendon repairs on one foot. Finally some shoes that don’t hurt and they also loom good. They also fit my wide feet.

Long lasting quality boat shoe
I basically live in my boat shoes in the summer. For years I bought the more well known brand, starts with an S end's with a Y, and I bought a new pair every year. About 4 years ago I decided to try this brand. I will admit these shoes will hurt your feet, and cause a blister or 2 before they break in . But once they do, they will last and last and last and be the most comfortable pair of shoes you own. Real leather needs to break in and conform to your feet. Which is a bit of an inconvenience. A suggestion I use is the get them soaking wet then wear them until they are dry. It will help the break in process, also buy these before your old pair is in the trash. So you can wear the new ones a bit at a time. My 4 year old pair are still going strong, they just look tired. So I decided to start the process for a new pair. Great shoes if you want to put in the effort.

Last summer (2015) I wanted to try something different, footwear wise. I had saw people wearing Sperry Topsiders and a few family members touted them as comfortable. I initially ordered a pair of Sperrys, but my width was out of stock everywhere. So I decided to try Sebago, and instead of the classic boat shoe look I went with the mesh sided Clovehitch 2 in EEE width. I had never owned a pair of boat shoes before, and have always wore socks, but nevertheless I opted to go sockless with these shoes. After a year of wear they have broken in and are comfortable, but don't make the mistake I did, buy yourself some no show liner socks or you will get blisters. I actually have a scar on my left heel from last summer where the skin was rubbed away after a day of walking around. Don't let that scare you away! Buy some no shows, don't plan on wearing your out of the box boat shoes in situations where you will be walking all day, break them in a few hours here, a few hours there and after a while you will have a pair of comfortable, hard wearing, unique Sebagos, that are definitely not the average pair of Topsiders. A huge plus is the Marine Grip soles, which seems to work equally well on wet grass or concrete and is very stable, if thick. All in all I recommend getting these if you like the style. The mesh doesn't help cool your feet as I had hoped but might work well if you actually get water inside the shoes.

Great Shoe. Fits Large
These are great shoes. Have had many pairs of Sebago Clovehitch thru the years. They are comfortable and hold up well. I normally wear a size 10 in almost all brands of shoes & sandals......except for these. All of my older Sebagos are 9.5 and I tried these in 10's since I was planning on wearing socks with these that I don't normally do with boat shoes. They were still too large in a 10. Going back in exchange for a 9.5. Great shoes but very unusual that I need to step down a size. They feel better & more substantial then the boat shoes from Sperry & Columbia.

Got about 500 miles out of this super wide shoe!
I have feet like Barney Rubble from the Flintstones - 7.5 EEEE. The attribute that most attracted me to this shoe was the super wide sole - wider than any shoe of this boat type that I could find when I was looking for a shoe (which I only had to look for as my old shoe was no longer made) - which for a man like me is important as my foot likes to spread out. (Of course, my size of this shoe is 7.5 WW, which, as I understand, is only equivalent to EEE, but this shoe easily wears into that last E.) This shoe does the job. I also have a fairly high instep (or so I've been told by the Al Bundy's of the world), and I've had no problem with that as well.I figure that I've walked about 500 miles (on pavement) in the pair I had (I mostly live in Europe so I walk A LOT!), and will probably do a bit more, but there are the telltale signs of wear, so there probably isn't much more in them to go. But still ... 500 miles? And I concur that they take a while to break in, as they are not much forgiving at first. I've had other boat shoes that broke in easier. The bottom line is that if you like the comfort of a boat shoe and have super wide feet like me, this seems to be your only choice. It's not cheap (but not really that expensive either) - and finding the WW in a slightly out of the way size like 7.5 could be tricky (although it seems that it can always be bought at the Sebago website for full price) - but someone in our situation can't be too choosy!

Good looking shoe
I was worried about the fit after reading a few reviews, but the size chart was right on for me. I wear a 10 for Timberland boat shoe and a 10 1/2 LLBean boat shoe, but Sebago an 11 was a perfect fit. I put a ruler on the ground and stepped on it and my foot is 11 inches (maybe an 1/8 or 2 shorter) from heel to toe. I've been walking around in them for a few days and they feel comfortable. I like the third eye to lace up the shoes. They tie up easy (not leather) and they stay tied. They look really good with jeans too. The price is right too. I looked at these on the Macy's website and they were $115.

Possiedo entrambi i modelli, Timberland e Sebago. Entrambi blu di colore e stesso numero, il 45. Bhe, come dicevo le Sebago sono superiori in tutto!!!
