So lightweight and strong; great two-n-one outdoor gear
This is the most amazing two for one set up. I am pretty sure that this piece of gear has become my favorite for all things outdoor; whether you are camping, hiking or backpacking, it is perfect for all of these activities. The Get Out Gear TrekChair has a permanent place in my car now. The entire setup takes up very little space in my car and I can't believe how overall lightweight it is. My son and I hike quite a bit so I already owned hiking sticks. I always thought that the ones I had were very lightweight but the Get Out Gear poles definitely have my old sticks beat in the weight category. Even the chair setup is lighter than my lightest backpacking chair. So if you are a backpacker, this is definitely for you because I know how every saved ounce counts when trekking long distances. As far as setting this up, it is super simple. Once you get the base of the chair together and the fabric on it, simply slip the poles into the holes in the back of the chair and attach the fabric by sliding it over the poles. But BE SURE to extend the length of the poles before trying to sit down!! The fabric will sit directly on the base of the chair until you do this. If you try to sit down without doing this, you are going to have a sore tailbone. The chair is comfortable to rest in. I like that it is a high back chair which gives you some neck and head support. It has been very sturdy thus far. Overall I feel like I can give it a 10/10. Really the only drawback is the price; I do feel like it is quite the investment for hiking poles/chair but like I said, if you are a regular hiker/backpacker, the investment is worth it for the reduction in overall weight you are carrying with you.

Well made poles and chair!
The only thing is that the QR code sent with package did not work when I scanned it to help me set it up. No video on their website. Just a small picture showing setup. However, I did eventually assemble it. Do not extend the polls until you have the fabric seat attached. Make sure poles are firmly clamped, and make sure they will not slide down. You don't want to sit in it and slide down onto that bar right below your seat. Ouch! Can't wait to take it hiking in a few months. Will update then.

This is a great option if you're looking for a packable outdoors chair
I usually don't bring chairs with me when I'm backpacking, because I rarely bring things that only serve one function due to space considerations. This product was a no brainer, because it serves as both a chair AND a stand alone set of trekking poles. I've historically hiked with a stick because being from New York, I've learned that it is always good to keep a hand free. That being said, I've always envied the folks who fly past me with their trekking poles, offering them superior incline/decline support. This product just so happened to be my first set of trekking poles as well, and I LOVE them. The trekking poles are sturdy, and adjustable to suit your specific height needs. The tips fit in all but the smallest of cracks, and offer stability when dealing with rugged trails and icy/wet rocks. Not to mention the fact that when I arrive at my campsite, I can take those same trekking poles and use them to create a chair to sit on after I set up camp. The chair has these pole parts that slide into place, and you attach the trekking poles to the back, to complete the assembly. It takes no time at all to set up and break it down.If I had to find something I didn't like about it, it would only be the poles attached to the chair fabric. While it is packable and lightweight, the pole assembly takes up more space than I would personally like. BUT, the tradeoff is well worth it. Unless I'm doing some ultralight bushcraft pack, I don't mind taking this with me on more casual outdoor trips. Even if you aren't big into the outdoors, you can keep this in your car and use it pretty much anywhere that you might need a seat. This is a great product.

Not stable and way to low to the ground
I thought this would awesome with the description of all the adjustments. Unfortunately it is very unstable and way too low to the ground. It sits maybe 4 inches off the ground. I tried several adjustments and nothing made it really useable so I guess the only value to me is in the trekking poles.

Innovative design to have the hiking poles integrated into the chair, with good quality.
This Highback Backpacking Chair by Get Out Gear, is a fantastic way to have a super light and easy to assemble chair for the end of a hike or even while watching the kids sports game. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – The is a high quality hiking chair that appears to be made of very good materials. I’d put this one in the lower side of the top tier for backpacking chairs and guess that it’ll last me a long time of great service.II. Functionality – This is a really great chair if you need to carry it a long way or even just to have a chair that’s easy to carry and set-up. Its super light at 1.4 pounds and actually really easy to setup. I’m a huge fan of the high back and find it quite comfortable to sit in. Having the hiking poles also go into the chair is genius and saves significant overall carrying size. I was also impressed with the ability to control recline with the poles on this type of chair and it works great too.Overall, this is a wonderfully designed, high quality chair that has the functionality to make all these great features work well. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.
