Royal Oval Plates - Pack of 6, 14inch Dinner, White Porcelain | Commercial Quality Tableware

I purchased these plates to accommodate our Christmas Roast dinner, as our regular plates are not quite large enough. These plates arrived well packaged and we were impressed with the size and high quality. I would say that these plates are slightly heavier than normal ones, time will tell if this means that they are more durable. I certainly hope so as they look fabulous.

These are big acreage plates, for the biggest meal (or indeed serving), where you don't want to stack everything up. There's a decent depth at the edges, if you want to drown everything in gravy, and of course the oval shape means you can still load them in the dishwasher. The material is quite thick all round, including the edges - they are certainly not delicate in design - which does mean they are surprisingly heavy (1.3kg, compared to 700g for my regular 11" plates).After the delivery company went to extra-ordinary lengths to destroy them, the seller (Bar Equipment Direct, who had packaged them well in the first instance) promptly replaced the damaged pieces, with no fuss at all.The only negative is that the finish is some way from perfect. The glaze is a bit uneven, and there are some small imperfections in there as well (pit marks). I would have hoped for a bit better, but these are priced as hard-working functional plates, not entertaining finest, and it looks like I would have to pay twice as much for the better quality. At £7.50 a pop, I can live with that.

Very very very happy I bought 6 of these plates for ChristmasI love the size shape and quality they are quite heavy and very sturdy and my food looked lovely on them as you have so much room I’m definitely going to order more so 5* all the way

Initially I decided not to buy these plates due to the price, the same 6 plates but in 31cm were only £30 compared to £50 for these slightly larger ones. Price aside, the plates are of a very good heavy quality and a good size and they feel substantial enough to last a long time

I bought these oval plates especially to serve Christmas dinner on and so far been very pleased with them. Strong plates and a great size, which is ideal for special occasions and general use. They are quality plates, wash up well in the dishwasher and good value for money. I would definitely recommend them.

Had a bit of a delay with dispatch, seller was very helpful, plates are a bit heavy, but are a very good size and excellent quality, just the right size for my Christmas dinner.
