SIKAI CASE Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard with Stand, Ultra Slim 7.9in Compact

Testing the B.O.W. HB199 folding Bluetooth keyboard. Well, it’s small. Smaller than standard small keyboards. This makes it a bit difficult to use but still faster than typing on the on-screen keyboard on the iPhone 12. Some of the keys you’re used to are not present and are instead functions of other keys. The build quality seems fairly high for this type of device. The exterior case is metal and it has metal hinges for the folding part. The stand, unfortunately, does not fit my phone with its case on. I am typing this with my phone lying flat on the arms of the stand, which fold out flat to provide support for the phone which sits in a notch in these support arms. The keys are fairly nice, laptop-style keys. They are not mechanical, but are nicer than most chicklit type keys. Some of the keys are rather small, larger, like the comma key and the backspace, and the number keys. But that is all part of the sacrifice for the very small size of the keyboard. All-in-all, I like it. I like how it feels; it’s not a thumb-typing keyboard and it’s on my phone. Connecting and using it was completely painless and easy. I am currently typing this review in the notes app on my iPhone using this keyboard. If you think a small regular keyboard for your phone is something you or someone you know would enjoy, I recommend this. I have not had it long enough to determine things like the battery life or any kind of long-term use characteristics nor have I tried using it with any games. The wasd keys seem to be in a nice enough position that gaming with the keyboard wouldn’t be too bad if you also had a Bluetooth mouse for your phone. My main complaint is that my phone does not fit in the stand while in its case. That isn’t that big of a deal, and I can find ways to manage it, but it would be nice if the stand function was more useable with a variety of phone thicknesses.

This is the folding keyboard I've been looking for. Unlike the more common horizontal folding keyboards, I prefer the vertical folding ones. They are compact and lightweight, making them convenient for me to use on the go. I really appreciate that they included a storage bag inside. It allows me to protect my keyboard effectively! The keys are relatively small, which might be a bother for those who don't like small keys. However, they are sufficient for me. The key texture resembles that of laptop computers, which is exactly what I need—a portable keyboard that can easily operate my phone and iPad. Oh, and there's also a built-in stand for both the phone and iPad, eliminating the need to carry a separate one. This feature is incredibly convenient! The Bluetooth connection is fast as well. I had no trouble understanding the connection process outlined in the attached manual, and the response time is quick. Overall, it's an excellent product, and any minor drawbacks can be overlooked. I would definitely recommend it to others who are in need!

The keyboard is extremely portable compared to trifold kinds (I have a photo to compare them). I also like that the fold is across a row of keys so it feels a little. More stable typing across your lap. The cost of it being so small is it is MUCH smaller than a trifold portable keyboard. It is tolerable and useable for me (I’m using it now), but I wear size small gloves and so it is probably not for most man-sized hands. Some special keys are in different places, though not far from where they normally are. Things like the parenthesis I actually hit correctly where they are because the keyboard is so tiny. The use of the function key for the single and double quote is very annoying, however. That really is the only key switch that I find annoying. The shift works for other things as normal. The biggest disappointments involve the powering of the device. One is that there’s a switch on the side to turn it on and off. Why not turn off when folded and on when open? I’ll probably drain the battery faster forgetting to turn the switch to off and I’ll update on that. The second disappointment is that this is 2023 and the devices uses a micro USB charger, not a C. Considering USB-C has been out for a long time and that the EU mandates them in a short period, it is extremely annoying and it may be the dealbreaker if I decide not to keep this because I travel as a minimalist and don’t really want to carry a very old-style cable. I do love the built-in stand. This is fantastic. The whole thing sits on my lap as I write this now. It fits my phone with a case, though the case isn’t abnormally thick or anything. The angle is great for me. The stand is the best part of this keyboard for sure.

This keyboard is what it purports to be. Small, light, cheap, and pocketable. I have relatively big hands and can type on it with little trouble. You'd never use this as your all day everyday keyboard though. Or I wouldn't. It's just too small. It goes in my pocket or bag when I need an emergency keyboard, or potentially if I'm attending a one hour meeting or something. Pairs great with a phone. Also, apostrophe is in a weird place. Be ready to adjust for that.

I really wanted to love the hot dog style fold mechanism because it does indeed make this pocketable - which was the biggest thing I wanted from a portable keyboard. I don't want to carry a whole backpack for a keyboard - all of these other tri-folding ones no matter how compact they get they still don't fit in a pocket so I still need a backpack regardless... so why not just bring a whole normal keyboard at that point? I'll admit this DOES work. but they cheat to make that happen, all of the keys are extra small (i don't know by what %) but I'd say it feels like its 60-80% the size the keys should actually be.... It's almost usable but it's just uncomfortable. I find myself preferring just typing on my phone than using it. And the final nail in the coffin is the build quality... despite using good materials and having a metal body it feels flimsy which my tri-folding keyboards don't have that problem. This feels like it will break easily and also when folded the ribbon cable is completely exposed which means one wrong move... having this in a pocket with keys or something scrapping that tiny ribbon cable will destroy this thing.... so it's benefit of being pocketable is ruined, and placing it inside a carry bag before pocketing it is just too much and makes it bulkier too. I still give 3 stars because it's a good effort, and it will work for some one - just not for me.

Good quality, easy to use and access my devices

This is a really cool item. Works well with my android phone and iPad. The obligations down side for me is that my hands are big. But if you have normal size hands this will work well for you.

This keyboard is very practical, especially if you type a lot on your phone like I do. It connects easily via Bluetooth and has been really helpful for longer writing without tiring out my thumbs. I also love how it folds, it’s slim and small enough to fit in multiple of my purses, which makes it easy to carry around. The keys are pretty small, so it does take some time to get used to. I also have multiple languages set up on my phone, so I have to make sure I’m on the correct keyboard since some symbols change. The built-in stand actually works well once positioned correctly. It gives a good angle and even works with one of my thicker phone cases. Using it this way also keeps the keyboard from sliding at all while typing. Overall, really useful and something I reach for often!
