Not for a night light though. It's too bright. It's good for story time and some play time before bed. I like that it has three light choices. .but I always forget where is the off button! Whahaha. I just press them all. Or most of the time just unplug it!

I don't have kids and got this for personal use. I have it set up on the middle level in the living room in a multi-split level house. I gives enough light without being distracting to awaken someone and the slowly rotating lights are somewhat soothing/calming.It's just a basic starry pattern...no milky way galaxy if that's what you're looking. The volors are white, blue, red and green or you can overlap and have multiplecolors. The first night I had it on white and tonight on blue. I'm keeping it on blue. I didn't think it would cover such a large room but it does. I can eve see a portion of it outside and in an adjacent room!It has a battery compartment and a plug feature. I have it plugged up because I don't feel like dealing with batteries.It comes with a clearish/opaque-like dome. It mutes the light if left on. I'm not a fan of it because it comes off easily and doesn't click in to secure it. But it does keep the black film dome from getting dusty.Would recommend.

This thing is great. My kid loves moons and stars so it's a big hit and has replaced his nightlight. It has different colors and you can make it spin around. The only downside (minor) is that it isn't really compatible with my smart switch, meaning when I tell Google to turn on the switch this light still needs to manually be turned on. Not a big deal but something to be aware of. The brightness is good too--not too bright to keep the baby up

Perfect little nightlight. This is a great nightlight it shines nice and clearly on the wall without being overly bright it’ll give you a little one the look of staring up at the stars. It’s small enough to fit in small places you can put it on the dresser or by the bedside itself. It’s able to show in several different beautiful colors. I love the fact that you can put the dome over the top and make it just a regular nightlight without the stars. This is a great thing to put in a child’s room.

First, this is very easy to use but also has a good variety of options to find something that works for your situation. There is an frosted white plastic cover that can be put over this so it's more of a true nightlight but when you remove the cover is when you see the stars and moon projected which I think is very cool.While this is not something I leave on overnight, I use it as a great way to wind down for the evening and I can alter the colors to what I'm feeling like. There's a whole variety of colors and color combos (or alternating loops of colors if that's more your style) then if you want to add movement you can do that too. While it didn't come with a wall outlet, it does come with a USB cord you can use with any USB adapter to plug in. This also has the added benefit of being able to run on 4 x AAA batteries which I also love for portability (nice relaxing bath, anyone?).Overall, I'm a fan. It's also very lightweight so I'm considering taking it on travel with me as harsh hotel lights make it difficult for me to wind down after a long day.

While I suppose that most would purchase this for a child’s room. I purchased it as a night light for our adult bedroom. When it is difficult to sleep, watching celestial bodies, even stylized ones, rotating slowly around the ceiling in a dark room is mesmerizing and comforting. It beats counting sheep.I have put it on an outlet timer so that it will not run all night. This is perhaps the product’s weak point—no internal timer.Other than this, I like this product. I have seen similar projector night lights with a variety of patterns, while this has only one that can be altered with different combinations of colored lights or an opaque white dome. This single pattern is fine for me. I am not interested in seeing dinosaurs, whales, or cartoon characters on the ceiling, anyway.
