Sliced my hand and wrist a little but not really serious. Careful when drilling the runners. So sharp I didn’t even feel it just saw blood. It would have been perfect if it fit under the desk like I intended!!! But my fault, it shows the wheel measurements and so I have to find blocks to lift my desk🤦🏻‍♀️. Pretty simple instructions just tedious process that took about 2 hours. Tip: lay the unit on its back to lower and gently push (not force) the drawers in. If they aren’t aligned when inserting the drawers and you force it, the whole thing is done. Not bad with a drill handy. FYI the wheels are plastic, pretty durable, but not something I would place heavy items on top of. The wheels could be busted if a person sits on it. Overall very happy with how easily the drawers glide after a little wiggling to get the drawers in. And looks nice.

Overall the product is great, very sturdy, nice looking etc. The problem was that one piece came without the holes predrilled for the screws or locking nuts. We had to improvise & use screws. Luckily it was in a place that wouldn't show, because it cracked a little. 😖 At this point it was almost completely together & re-boxing & sending back seemed like too much of a hassle.

The DEVAISE 2 Drawer Wood File Cabinet is excessively over-priced for a pressboard structure. Yet, it is functional and as you can see from the photos and very useful.POINTS:1) Assembly is VERY complicated...yes VERY as in Extremely complicated. Upon first opening the hardware pouch - that alone may be enough for you to give up without venturing any further. There are literally hundreds of pieces.2) Give yourself plenty of room. You're going to need it! There must be 35-40 boards and plastic parts to arrange in some order. Fortunately, for the most part, these items are lettered.3) You may have noticed that in Photo #1 there are 3 items NOT included in the kit. I consider them essential. First the Wood Glue: You are screwing into what amounts to pressed sawdust and wood chips. Yes, your screw will bite into the board but if you want it securely anchored in place, use a dab of quality wood glue. Second: The need for a good power screwdriver should be fairly self-explanatory. Save your wrist and use a power screwdriver. WARNING - Do Not Overtighten. Third: A level will come into play when it's time to properly mount and align the drawers.4) DECISION TIME: Here you must decide if this is a 1 party or 2 party undertaking. If you are assembling the DEVAISE 2 Drawer Wood File Cabinet solo, disregard all steps regarding the mounting of the 5 wheels. You will complete mounting the wheels AFTER you have installed the 2 drawers. Jumping past the wheel mounting will keep the cabinet steady as you mount the drawers into the tracks. If you have someone working with you, then just mount the wheels in step.5) Apply CLOSE attention to the assembly instructions. There are multiple stages of assembly that require a clear understanding of a particular procedure. Often, the direction or orientation of a certain piece is critical and the distinction between the correct placement and the wrong requires extremely close inspection.NEGATIVES: Beyond the DEVAISE 2 Drawer Wood File Cabinet's excessive price for a cheap pressboard unit and the abundant use of plastic, the major negative is the use of cheap (the cheapest?) wheel sets. Not only do the resist rolling, when they do roll they mark our hardwood floors. Amazon sells some truly excellent wheels for cabinets but they range from $40-$120 USD. And, keep in mind, you need 5 wheels.

We really like this very good looking and solid cabinet. They provide extra parts just in case which is always appreciated... the ONLY problem is that the assembly isn't easy and you need two people for the final step. Plan on 1-2 hours putting it together but once you do, it's very nice.

I suppose you get what you pay for but the instructions are terrible. First time I put it together it was all wrong. Second time I put it together I thought it was wrong - I took it all a part to put it together again to see what I had done wrong. And I really don’t think I did anything wrong. But the drawers won’t completely slide shut. The runners won’t go back any further and still function correctly. The blue is cute and the size is great. I’ll use it for right now. But I’m not very happy with this purchase

Assembly wasn’t any more difficult than others I’ve assembled. All the parts fit. Instructions weren’t difficult to follow. And I can confirm that when using hanging file folders, the plastic tabs fit just fine. Looks great.

This was VERY challenging to put together. The track for the drawers broke as I was putting in the final drawer and now the it barely opens but if I pull hard enough it does open. I am not happy with it exactly, but I just didn’t want to have to take it allllll apart to return it… but it’ll do the trick.

Fairly easy to assemble, although the instructions are just a bit fuzzy. And when you come to the part about needing 2 people to insert the drawers, just substitute laying the cabinet on its side and attaching the guide bars that way. No need to hold anything up that way. Haven't put it into service yet, so can't comment on that. I do like the option of either letter or legal size file hangers.
