Great lighting
Very handy for when the power goes out. I like that they can either be used with batteries or charged with a USB charger. They are very bright considering the size, light weight too. Also has a magnet on the bottom of light. Also has red light that can flash depending on the settings in case of an emergency. I recommend these lights.

Love it, great gift for who ever could use a "flash light "
Appsolutly hits the point. Ive had this "type"before, used it all the time. At night with need to get to the barn, GREAT. Compaired to this one, it was cheepy, plastic, easy to brake, fell of a bale hit the wood floor brock right in half.THIS NEW ONE IS WONDERFUL. It has weight you know your holding it. Does what it says, super bright, just LOVE IT! If your looking for a good dependable, reasonably price, flash lightBuy this one! Comes in a set of two!! Wonderful! Cant wait to use it camping or deck sitting....love it!(Bigger then the picture.)

Value
First of all, for the money, this is exactly what I wanted. Whereas I do not intend to use the flashlight, nor red flashing light features, they are handy nonetheless. I was primarily interested in the lantern feature and it does not disappoint. It is compact, but produces a lot of light when fully opened. The one most critical comment I have is that nowhere on the instructions does it say anything about removing a tab from the internal battery before charging. I put it on charge overnight and it would not light the next morning. I found that very unusual as normally other rechargeable items I have purchased come at least partially charged. I was on the verge of returning it when I saw a short video in the return section that said something about removing the tab. Hello!!! That should have been on the instruction sheet!!! Oh well, it all worked out and I am happy.

Lots of light for the money.
Picked up a pair of these to have for power failures. They come with generic 18650 batteries rated at 1800mah, so these aren't exactly powerhouses. But they charge in unit, which is convenient. The battery compartment is pretty clever - takes either 3AAs or a single 18650. So when the rechargeable runs out, you can throw in some disposables if the power's still out. The light isn't bright enough to make you forget the power's out, but it's bright enough to make a meal and keep you from tripping over your kid's toys. I wouldn't take them camping, though - I doubt they'd last more than one trip as the construction/build quality is pretty flimsy. However, as emergency lights they're fine.

So good I bought a second set for our cars!
My hubby only liked Maglites, but after 30 years of replacing batteries and light bulbs and still never having a working flashlight when we needed one or being the one who had to hold the flashlight in just the right position so he could see whatever he was working on, I bought these. He's now a convert. These lights are simply the best. They solve every problem that comes up when you need a flashlight. It sits securely on any surface, standing and if you need to lay it on it's side, it doesn't roll. Open it and the light is so bright it'll fill the room. Shield your eyes because it is BRIGHT! The flashlight function is perfect, not as bright as the lantern function but bright enough to get any job done, easy to hold, stand and doesn't roll lying on it's side. It comes with 3 strong magnets on the bottom that hold very well, perfect to stick on a vehicle if you need to use either the flashing red hazard or SOS functions. It comes with wire handles for carrying or on the bottom are 2 hooks for hanging. It charges using a usb and you can use it as a battery bank to charge your phone. All this and you get TWO for under 20, but the BEST thing is I no longer need to hold it for him. He can easily place one however he needs.

Best LED lantern I've used
Have used several AA and AAA lanterns since they first came out several years ago for daily/standby home use, camping, backpacking and in emergency kits and go bags. Bright, good rugged unit with flashlight mode and emergency red flasher in the top (vehicle breakdown marker?). Best feature is 18650 Lithium battery for long life and no leakage. USB recharging port or easy battery changeout. Built to also accept 3xAAA batteries without an adapter in a pinch. All our emergency radios, flashlights and now lanterns are rechargeable 18650 battery based. No leakage or storage discharge worries. No more batteries to buy for next 15-20 years.

Great lanterns that will last
The first set of these I ordered was "like new" and unfortunately whoever had them first removed the batteries. I love the feature that the rechargeable battery can be replaced as years ago by . The return was easy and the next set was complete. We just had the outage to use them and they worked great. Great quality for the price.

Remove the tab in the battery compartment!
It's crucial to point out that nowhere on the instructions does it say anything about removing a tab from the internal battery compartment before charging!!! I received it and plugged it into charge overnight and the next morning the light was still flickering from blue to red. I found that very unusual and frustrating because normally other rechargeable items come at least partially charged. I was on the verge of repacking it and returning it when I saw a comment from somebody else that pointed this out and voila I pulled the tabs on both lanterns and charged them perfectly. The lights went from flashing blue red to just flashing to Blue within an hour and a half! The brightness of the lanterns is phenomenal and the flashlight as well. I think these are going to be very useful. Keep AA batteries on hand because it does state that your rechargeable battery will only last about 2 and 1/2 hours on a full charge.
