Right out of the box this thing works very well. It paired to all three controllers I tried with it: 8bitdo Pro 2 and Arcade Stick, Dual Shock 4. Haven't tried the Wii U Pro yet. Having the ability to pair 4 controllers to one adapter is incredible and a huge cost saver. I've detected no noticeable lag while playing (games tested were Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive 2, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and NFL 2K1). My only issue is that I cannot get the firmware to work on my Mac laptop, therefore I cannot unlock some of the extra very useful advertised features such as simulated VMU and right analogue functionality. Online I saw reviews claim you could download the firmware to a Mac but I have not found that to be the case. Maybe I'm doing it wrong (I'm not the most tech inclined person in the world) but it's been a bummer in that regard. If you have a PC this should be a non-issue. Otherwise, very happy with this purchase.

Most reviews comment on the fact that you cannot use a memory card with this adapter, but if you own even a broken DC controller (or lightgun racing wheel or even the fishing rod!) you can simply unplug port 2 3 or 4 and plug in the controller/memory card, I encountered ONE game that required a memory card in slot 1 to save, most games do not care which port you use.Otherwise this works great, I used it with a pair of DS4 controllers and even with 2 devices plugged in I noticed no lag. Well worth the price.

This works as expected. This actually does emulate a vmu. You just need to update the firmware. Then format the memory using the dreamcast.

This product is really cool and actually does what it says, was able to use all kinds and brands of wireless controllers on my dreamcast, my only gripe is that I've had to reset and or re pair the device to my controllers every so often which can be a hassle, fortunately this can be done fairly quickly.

This works like a charm with my PS5 controller! my only gripe is that the color of the player one jack is red, wish it was white to better match the my PS5 controller and original Dreamcast controller. 🤔

Everything is working great

Bitfunx, the company known for cloning and ripping off smaller retro video game creators works. But, darthcloud has the "blue retro" tech as open source so Bitfunx can use it without crossing an ethical line. Now for the product, it works well with minimal latency (some latency is inevitable when using bluetooth) and using a Series X controller feels pretty natural when playing Sonic Adventure. There is a virtual VMU on the adapter (once you update the firmware), that'll keep your saves, but personally I don't like the idea of my saves being on the adapter but to each their own. If I were to use it in the future, I would use an OEM Dreamcast controller in port 1 for VMU support, and use the other 3 wireless ports for multiplayer games like Power Stone 2 and connect wireless controllers for my friends.
