Can this be used on strings as well as varnish?

No use rubbing alcohol on strings. This polish is for wood!

Can I apply this product on the violin bridge and fingerboard?

I personally would not. A bridge only needs a soft cloth to clean as well as fingerboard.

how does this product smell like ???

It smells like car wax or turpentine. Not real strong and it goes away when it dries. It's not too shiney and it does not affect the patina of the instrument.

I have a white water stain on my instrument - will this do anything to help it?
