Bargain
This was a steal on offer. I expect it to last as it is a Philips branded light. Surprisingly bright, warm white light, fitted on a wall in the conservatory.Very lightweight, the plastic cover is very very flimsy and won’t take much to dent it if knocked

Good light, easy to install
The light was easy to install, considering I have never installed a light before. This was purchased to replace an existing light so it was just a case of removing old one and wiring this in.It doesn’t include any screws or fittings so bear that in mind when purchasing - but it’s a good brightness and quality for the price

Great light
I have tried some cheaper PIR lights before but they were too bright or too small. This light is a nice size and shape. The output is easy on the eye and illuminates very well.

These work well - but are made of plastic not glass
I bought these because it listed the material as glass. There is no glass anywhere ... just a cheap plastic cover ... but they do work well, are bright enough as expected and the sensor works really quickly.

Excellent warm light output, very convenient and easy(ish) to fit. Every porch ought to have one
Bought to replace a ceiling rose that was fitted with a fickle PIR bulb. Should have bought this fitting in the first place.PROS: small form, excellent light output and easy(ish) to fit. Light turns on at a lux level when you’d have turned a light on, but not before. Light colour is warm white and marked as 2700k, but not in the least bit yellow. Fitted in a porch and the PIR activates immediately on either door opening and stays on for about 15 seconds after the last motion is detected. It’s also incredibly light so would be ideal for say the roof of a caravan/static bathroom.CONS: the dome cover feels cheap, not at all dissimilar to the plastic a milk carton is made from. It deforms easily when fitting and whilst it popped back into shape, I expect it would crease permanently if you were really heavy handed. Importantly it doesn’t look cheap once installed, though admittedly it’s functional not pretty. Biggest bugbear is the ludicrously short wire with the connector for the PIR that’s housed in the dome cover. Once the back plate is fitted it’s next to impossible to get the dome cover back on. 5 minutes to fit and wire the backplate, 15 more to fit the cover.Anyhow, fitted and working well. Will update on longetivity but no reason to think it’ll be an issue. Now...where else can I put one up.Update: fitted 9 months ago, no degradation in light or other issues. If this review was useful, please click the 'Helpful' button. Thanks

Junk. Plastic junk. This is not Philips surely?
All plastic apart from the base that's made of painted aluminium just thicker than tinfoil.Problems are :1 - The lightshade needs removing to fit - it's fiddly to unplug if you have large western hands. The children in the Philips factory probably didn't have a problem but with my hands it's impossible to plug and unplug the connector because the cable's too short. Because it's too short unplugging means knocking the shade and the PIR falling to bits, then you need to try to clip it back into the shade. Three times. Screws not included.2 - The terminals are tiny and only suitable for bellwire, or one core of T&E. Your twisted pair of neutrals won't fit. Trust me. They won't. Your earths? Ahahahaha. No, they won't fit either. One core or forget it. If your sister had a dollshouse with lights when you were a kid that's the sort of wire these terminals are made for.3 - The grommeted hole in the base is too small for UK wiring. Hack your ceiling plaster out just enough to open up enough space to get a terminal block into the ceiling space above the fitting so you can hook the fitting up with a short length of the flex you're about to hang yourself with. Flex not included. Terminal block not included. Or get a 10mm drill bit and drill out the hole in the tinfoil base so it will take UK cables. It's not exactly quality metal so a sharpened pencil could probably substitute for the drill bit. Or maybe use a crayon.4 - It doesn't work. Or rather it does - it flashes. Once. About a second or less. Not the 30 seconds (plus or minus 10 seconds - there's quality for you...) that the Ikea-esque instructions hint at. Sadly, for me, one second isn't really long enough to make use of the quality LED illumination illustrated in the advert.Philips should be ashamed of themselves. Tat. I will leave it to your imagination to guess where it's (and I use the word in it's loosest sense) "made". You're having a laugh Amazon. Sorry.

It works, But.....
This was bought to go in my garage which is in darkness without the internal light being turned on. The light switch is at the kitchen end which (poor planning!) is no use when coming in from the side door and looking for indoor shoes. This unit does the job BUT - Pasticky quality; not particularly bright; and is wired to go directly into a ceiling or wall mains supply. Fortunately I have a spare mains socket in the garage roof (for an unused door motor option) that was not needed so I fixed the light to the ceiling, not flush, with the wire coming out of the side. Yes it works but not very bright at all.Despite my criticism it does what I bought it for. Not pretty, not particularly bright but better than tripping over odds and sods on the flor. I would not consider this actually inside the house.

Good light
Good light on the whole the light is a bit yellow but is bright enough fitting the light is awkward as the connection is very short so you have to have nimble fingers. Having the motion censors is great as my switch is in another room from the light
