It works
I bought one before not this model it's was a hdmi .2.0 for my Xbox series X and it worked really well I don't have a hdmi 2.1 TV or monitor but I decided to get this as I recently purchased a ps5 , and I'm future proofing my set up for when I buy a hdmi 2.1 screen , wow this thing is great I get 1440p 120hz crisp clean picture and I can yous my astro A50 Xbox edition on both platforms, I don't get mic use on ps5 , ( how ever I can if I plug usb in to ps5 and switch to pc but I don't play online on ps5 so don't bother )I get to do this but plugging the optic cable in to the adaptor from my base and it works and I can even use the profiles I saved for Xbox on ps5 and get Dolby aswell , so I'm so glad I bought this thing I was a bit hmmmm shall I send it back it's the same as my old one WRONGGGGGG it's way better it even let me use a DP active adapter so I could use display port on Xbox series X and Ps5 which the old one didn't like that adaptor and plan didn't work so if your thinking of getting this thing go for it you won't be disappointed

Does not support 4K 120hz on Xbox Series X
Cycled through around 8 HDMI 2.1 cables trying to get this too work. Devices I’m using, Xbox Series X, audio extractor with 2x HDMI 2.1 cables with a Samsung Odyssey AG700 which supports 4K 144hz (120hz for console)Immediately when turning on the Xbox it has defaulted the resolution to 640p. Multiple settings on Xbox display settings I could only get this device to work in 2K even though this product is advertised as 4K. When using the device in 2K, it would say my monitor doesn’t support 4K, yet when removing the device and using 1 HDMI 2.1 cable only straight to the monitor all running in 4K 120hz with everything ticked on 4K settings. Either product doesn’t support 4K or there was a fault with the specific model I had purchased. Will review again once I try a replacement. Until then, I could not get this to work in the advertised 4K 120hz on a Series X

I had issues with it - Quality picture great
I was excited to be able to use my old AV receiver using the SPDIF output. However, for some reason in cinematic parts of the game the conversations or the actor's voices were not played on the system. I was getting crazy why was the reason for that until I decided to send it back. Other thing I did not like was the power adapter was not included, so I used a standard one, but not sure about the Voltage output to make sure was working ok, was that probably the cause of the problem? I do not know

Solution to the missing centre channel when AVR is fed from Apple TV 4K box via optical SPDIF.
I used this product to feed the audio output of my Apple TV 2022 4K box via optical SPDIF to my aged AVR receiver which does not have any HDMI inputs. I initially had a problem in that when fed with 5.1 sound from the Apple TV box via this audio splitter the centre (dialogue) channel was silent. The solution was to change the format of the audio output from the Apple TV box from the default (which seems to be Atmos) to Dolby 5.1. Apparently optical SPDIF cannot carry Atmos. With this change made this audio splitter works well and seems to be well made and fully functioning unit.

Works perfectly
I bought this so I could split the video audio signal from my PS5 as to use my DAC AMP through an optical cable.Everything works perfect and I still get 120FPS on COD

Unfortunately it caused my TV to be flickering when connected to PS5
- Update 22/09Unfortunately, I have decided to return it. The screen flickering problem persisted and is extremely annoying. I have tried different screen configurations on the PS5 and even put -1, -2 in the 4K upscaling option. But nothing worked and the screen kept flickering. I have the new Samsung S95C OLED TV and this box is fully compatible with all features as product description. Not sure why the screen keeps flickering. Could be a fault on the product too. Shame because it really solved my audio delay problem.---------------------------------------------------------------- Update 20/09Since I changed my TV to a Samsung OLED I've been experiencing some audio delay when using my PS5, which is extremely annoying when playing games. I have a Logitech Hometheatre Z906 connected via optical on the TV. So the PS5 was sending audio through HDMI to the TV and the TV sending audio via optical to Home Theatre. Maybe because the hometheatre I am using is only Dolby Digital/DTS, and Samsung has no support to this format, the decoding process was causing the audio delay. Even using the audio delay feature available on the TV Settings I could not solve this problem. So I decided to buy this audio extractor and the delay was solved instantly. Now I am using PS5 connected via HDMI to this box, optical plugged to this box to the hometheatre and HDMI from the box to the TV. A few things I have noticed:- There were absolutely no video quality loss using the box. This is something I was afraid but everything seems fine. Plus testing all screens on PS5 it shows indeed the box can go up to 120hz. VRR and HDR active as normal.- A strange thing I noticed is the fact that only using the box already solved the audio delay problem. So PS5 HDMI to box > HDMI out of box to TV > TV optical to Hometheatre. Not sure why this happened (maybe the box is decoding the audio faster and sending it to TV as passthrough to hometheatre?). But just to be sure I am using the optical port from the box > hometheatre.- On my first try I was experiencing some screen flickering using this box with PS5. Maybe because I changed the video output configuration on PS5 and didn't restart it. After restarting the PS5 with all connected and setup the problem disappeared. I only used it yesterday but I will keep testing it and will come back here if the problem occurs again (and will return this box to Amazon).Hope this helps. I researched so much about fixing the audio delay problem and this was the only solution. I love my hometheatre and Sony just broke my leg not offering an optical port on PS5.I gave it 4 stars because the building of the box looks very fragile for the price. There is a USB C cable for power that I have plugged on the back of PS5. Working fine.

Doesn’t work
No signal detected. Using with ps5, Samsung monitor and Astro a40 with mixamp. Even bought new hdmi 2.1 cables as some reviews suggested, still didn’t work.
