Works pretty well
I like that it doesn’t tangle, works well for my teacup Pomeranian

A great quality leash, though perhaps a few tweaks...
I purchased the Lite version for dogs weighing up to 50 pounds. The very good:The handle feels solid in my hand but not overly heavy. It sits nicely, whether my hand is active or hanging down; this seems to be due to the position of the curve inside the top of the handle opening, which provides a secure feeling as my index finger is perfectly opposed to my thumb up on the control button. I make a point of this because the leash I had been using has a similar feature but the curve on the previous leash is less pronounced so that it slides more on my hand. (I should perhaps mention I am a woman with an average size hand. My husband also has an average size hand and he said the grip felt comfortable but I would expect someone with very large hands might desire more room). I also like the width of this handle and the smooth, rubbery feel of the inside of the grip, which improves the feeling of control. I appreciate the reflective stitching on the leash and the swivel feature of the hardware that attaches to my dog's harness. I also immensely appreciate the ability to lock the leash with one hand and that when I want to lock the leash, I can pull back on the inner button and hear a nice, satisfying, solid-sounding click. My previous leash has a button that I have to push forward, which I feel is counter-intuitive when I want to pull the dog back.Possible tweaks:1) I mentioned pulling back on the button to lock it. I realize that the instructions indicate that the outside button should be pushed down to lock the leash. While at first this seemed like a nice feature, I found that I was used to the kind of temporary halt feature of the button on my previous leash - a feature I tend to use more frequently than a full lock as I often want to reel in the dog. I did find that I could lightly tap the outside of the button and that it could provide a temporary halt rather than a full lock. At first, I was pleased by this discovery but then I found that I had to be overly aware of the pressure I was using depending on what I wanted to use the button for. Also, pressing the outer button for a full lock does not give the secure satisfying click sound I could achieve by sliding the inner button back with my thumb, so I found myself not trusting the locking button unless I slid the button back with my thumb. This left me wishing the outer button was just a dedicated temporary "halt" like my previous leash.2) The action of the leash itself is smooth and the leash slides easily in to and out of the holder. It is flat, not cordlike, so less chance of that whiplash effect if the dog suddenly runs in a frenzy around my legs. However, compared to my previous leash, the area where the leash actually comes out of the holder is somewhat limited in allowing the leash the ability to rotate from side to side so for some reason I kept expecting the leash to bind up and get stuck to one side of the other and I wonder if, over time, the fabric of the leash might be more likely to take some punishment from this design - not that the dog is likely to be doing much of that extreme veering in a direction which would cause such binding, but I do think a bit more space for smoother rotation would be preferable. The so-what:I like the color of the fabric of the green leash; even though it is a bit bright, no one is going to miss seeing your dog wearing it. However, I found myself wishing the green on the handle matched the green of the leash, or even the other way around. Not at all pertinent to functioning, just to my aesthetic sensibility - some shades of green are better than others and sometimes greens clash. In summary, like all the Mighty Paw items I have purchased, this leash seems to be durable and well-made. Though there are some features I would prefer to be different, I expect I will be using this as my primary leash because I really like how secure the grip feels and how solid the lock feels (when I slide the button back) and with a retractable leash, grip and control make all the difference when a crisis arises.

A good sturdy unit, but a strange braking system.
I love retractable leashes. They offer a lot of flexibility and freedom for the right dogs and owners. This new offering by Mighty Paw is a good addition to the arsenal.Retractables MUST be good quality because of the type of system it is and the kind of hard use it gets. This isn't something you can cheap out on; you've got to get good quality because the off-brand ones do not last. I have seen them fail many times. In this case, the build is very good. Hefty and comfortable, and appears to be sturdy.Mighty Paw went with a tape instead of a cord, which is fantastic. I've been saying for years that a tape is safer and less prone to failure than cords. I'm glad to see that the company chose to use tape lines. The tape is thicker than most out there. It looks to be pretty strong.I also love the reflective stitching, and I really appreciate that that's a universal feature on all of Mighty Paw's products. This model uses a thumb brake. Thumb brakes are definitely superior to trigger brakes, so there's a plus. I'm not sure if I like the brake system, yet. On this model, the lock engages everytime you apply the brake whereas on others the lock is "optional." On this model the lock engages when you apply the brake, and to disengage you have to slide the switch forward.I suppose mainly it feels weird because it's different than how all of my others do it. It does make it harder to use the "swing arm" technique to reel your dog back if needed. I'm sure with practice one could get just as fast with the technique as with any other brand. It just threw me the first couple of times I used it because I'd never seen one do that. I'm still not sure if I like the lock not being optional. I'll keep using it and trying it out.The tension on it is a little tighter than most. I'm not sure if that's by design or just because it's still relatively new. I know there's debate about whether that encourages pulling or not, although I walked my Bulldog with it a couple of times and my Jack Russell a couple more and didn't notice any extra silly behavior. As always, I think the biggest factor is how well trained your dog is. A puller is going to pull if allowed to no matter what hardware they're wearing.Overall I think this is a good unit and I'll keep using it. I don't think it'll replace my bigger Flexi with more features, but I do like this and it'll be part of the equipment wall for some time. We'll see how it evolves over time. In the future I'd like to see longer range models, and integrated poop bag carriers.

Nice leash! Most of our potty walks are just ...
Nice leash! Most of our potty walks are just around our yard so a retractable leash is really nice. It allows me to stop and examine things with my 5 year old while the pupper is able to continue following whatever intriguing scent trail he has found. I was looking to replace our current retractable that is starting to show signs of its age BEFORE it actually broke. I have purchased other Mighty Paw products and was pleased with them so I figured I would give it a try.Belt style not cord was a big plus. I would not have purchased it at all if it had been a cord style. We have had too many bad experiences with those!Walks after dark are a very regular occurrence and even with them being in our own yard....reflective is a nice touch! My 14 year old daughter has not had any complaints other than having to adjust to the locking mechanism as it is quite a bit different than the one she is used to.The 17 year old wasn't sure about the handle at first as he thought it was a bit small for his hands but he found a hold that works and he is quite comfortable with. He loves the locking mechanism. All three of us are a little annoyed at the rubbing/ squeaky sound. I think it may be the leash itself rubbing against the opening as it comes in/ out of the housing. Not a deal breaker. Just kind of annoying and distracting. Especially since it makes me wonder if it is causing undue wear on the fabric of the leash.

Bad customer service
Had to return the two leash- as I didn’t feel confident with them for my 5st bulldog- product been returned over 3 weeks and received over a fortnight, got email as regards to one of them saying refunded in bank within 7 days still waiting 9 days later . And nothing heard with regards to the second one, which I think is appealing, and no way to contact seller. As sold through Amazon us
