A novel & ingenious way to keep your dashboard & interior protected from the sun
Opening the package, it's remarkable how much this device looks just like one of those compact umbrellas. I just slid the storage sleeve off and opened it right up...viola! A sunshade for my dashboard that actually blocks a LOT of infrared heat from the sun. The material is about the same thickness as a regular umbrella with exception to one side being silvered/reflective.Note that if you have a vehicle with a deep dashboard like mine (Dodge Journey) you will have some issues with the handle of this device preventing you from fully covering you dash because the handle simply gets in the way (see photo) As a result, I can't get the top of the sunshade to tuck behind my mirror - there are velcro straps to hold it centered on the rear view mirror's stalk. Otherwise it is a great concept and it certainly does keep the sunlight & heat from damaging your dash & heating your vehicle. I used the storage sleeve to keep the handle from scratching up my LCD screen on my dashboard - it works out okay that way.Very effective, quite handy and it stores compactly. If the handle didn't get in the way of my dashboard, I'd have given 5 stars.

A Little Hard to Open
This umbrella shade was a little hard to open. I pressed on the button but it would not open up. I had to push open the umbrella spokes while I was holding down the button and then it finally opened. It is a big shade and it covers all of my front window in my Honda CRV. The material is a little thin so I worry that it might rip on something so I will be careful with it. I pulled down both of my visors and the sun shade stayed in place. It took some finagling to open it but I think it will work for me. I like that it has Velcro straps to keep it closed when not in use and it has a very handy case to store it in.

Fits nicely
I drive a 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport and this fits GREAT in my wind shield. I had a little difficulty the first time I tried to open it since I was terrified to damage my car interior or windshield, and the button was a little stuck. However with some persistence I got the thing to open, slowly, and it fit just great. This cuts down a lot of the high temp in my can and will go a long way towards preserving my interior in the hot sun.

It's okay, it fits fairly well, with some adjustment.
I tried it on 3 different vehicles. When trying it with the first I noticed that some of the rod's were bent out of shape and 1 was really bent, which I straightened out best I could.First vehicle has a box under the rear view mirror with electronics and didn't fit quite right. The other 2 , one it didn't get the corners and the 3rd did actually get full coverage without any hassle. On none of these was I able to brace it on the console and the handle always rested on the dash, so I used the case it comes in underneath the handle to avoid scuff marks on the dashboard. It's a great idea, just needs some tweaks and maybe better quality control.

car umbrella
ok... this thing can be useful... IF it fits your car. this one did NOT fit. its more for a larger vehicle, like an suv or something larger. there is no area cut out for the rearview mirror, and if you arent careful youll break the ribs trying to get it up. if you have a larger car this will be useful to you, but not for sedan type cars.

Effective with a definitely noticeably cooler steering wheel after using it
You can put this into the window in either direction (there isn't "one way up, one way down). We think this does effectively cool down the vehicle and it definitely kept the steering wheel cooler that it normally would be without the shade. If your windshield is smaller/at a more acute angle, you do have to work for moment to get it in the right position, but it's not a big deal. On the whole, though, I'd say this is probably a bit better for larger vehicles. We tested it on my Hyundai sedan and it worked but it works a bit easier on our Toyota minivan. It stores nicely with a nice wrap around tie feature (and accompanying case) to keep it closed. We are pleased with it on the whole!

Is NOT a one size fits all
I love the concept of this “umbrella” pop up window shade, with just a simple push of the button you’re all set! It’s definitely easier than fiddling with a traditional shade, especially when it comes to folding it up! There is a little bit of a learning curve as to where you need to position the handle before you “open“ it up. Once in place, the handle just rests directly on your dashboard.I use this in my Honda Odyssey van; it doesn’t fit the entire window, but still provides sufficient shade. It even comes with a convenient carrying pouch to store when not in use, I don’t want to be bothered with that though and never use it.

The Perfect shade
Seriously, this is such a great idea. Anyone who has ever wrestled with the type of auto shades that require you to "place your thumb and fingers here, and fold like a taco" kind of widow covering will LOVE this umbrella shade. It's like POOF, it's open and then POOF, it's closed. No muss. No fuss. I can't believe I've waited this long to get one.
