I suspect the cabbage slicer I received was defective. The angle of the blade made it impossible to slice anything at all. I'll probably return it, but since it was so cheap I may just toss it, lesson learned. Back to thin slicing with a knife.

I like this but don't love it. It was harder to use than I anticipated for shredding my cabbage. It doesn't have a wide opening so you get smaller shavings. You have to use a back AND forth motion to get anything off the cabbage head, and it took so much longer than using a knife. Its' shred was very thin and fine, but I actually preferred my knife cuts due to getting a bit more thickness for the tacos I was making, for that crunch factor. This is more of a coleslaw grade thinness. So this would be awesome for when you need a finer shred, but I would go for something else if you want the items to have bite. It's fine for peeling carrots.

Easy to slice and peel softer veggies, when peeling carrots or potatoes you gotta apply some pressure. I like the wide handle makes it easy to use.

I am impressed how sharp the blade and how my cabbage came out just the way I like them.It is really sharp, and gets the job done fast.Very useful item for your kitchen.

If you're like me, you love coleslaw, but aren't a fan of the pre-cut bagged cabbage to use for it. And using a knife to cut up a head of cabbage doesn't work either since it's difficult to slice thinly and evenly enough. This cabbage slicer is a great tool that fixes both of those problems. I am now able to slice my cabbage thinly and evenly enough to use for coleslaw without needing to buy the pre-cut bagged stuff, and the great thing is you can use this slicer for other veggies if you want! Definitely would recommend this!

This iziusy Cabbage Slicer Peeler does a fine job of peeling/shredding cabbage. I found it easier to use effectively than the similar product the OXO Good Grips Large-Y peeler. This iziusy peeler is about an inch longer than the OXO Good Grips Large-Y peeler, longer in the handle, and its sturdy construction of stainless steel makes it a more effective tool. Blade length is the same as the OXO Good Grips Large-Y peeler. The OXO peeler is hard plastic, and this one is stainless steel. The OXO peeler came on a card and had a plastic blade guard on the blade for safety that can stay with the peeler after use, a nice safety feature. This iziusy peeler comes in a disposable plastic bag, but otherwise has no additional blade safety protection.If you go with this type of cabbage peeler, heed the warnings about how sharp it is. I have good knife skills and I get my chef’s knife going every day without incident. I knicked my thumb on the hand that was holding the cabbage head when I tried this one out. Not bad, just a warning to slow down and keep fingers out of the way.
