Works great!
Worked great even for unexpected use. Had to use this to cover windshield of my vehicle after tree fell on it. Kept area dry and free of more debris. My Night Cat covered hammock didn’t need any added coverage to keep the elements from me.

Great lightweight tarp and hammock cover
Last minute weekend getaway: toss your stuff in the SUV and head out for adventure. Hammock. Cooler. Food. Backpack. Hiking gear. Night Cat tarp: it’s all there. Arrive at your favorite spot and set up camp…..except, you left the tarp poles home. No problemo! The Night Cat is flexible and adaptable to just about any situation. Keeps the sun and wind from disturbing that afternoon catnap after a long hike. Does a fairly good job of deflecting those falling acorns that seem aimed right at your head, too! Haven’t had enough rain in the Blue Ridge Mountains this summer to test rain resistance, so that’ll have to wait.Overall impression: recommend

Stood the test of using several times
I have used this several times now to shade myself while out on day trips. Slept under a couple times and once in the rain. did well on every occasion to keep me dry, cool or shaded. Good material, excellent size very packable

Waterproof multipurpose Tarp
What I liked about the Tarp -1. It is a good waterproof tarp, It rained very heavy couple of days here and It tarp is very durable, sheds every water drops and the place is completely dry. It worked as it should.2. The tarp is big enough for multipurpose use. I put it in the backyard currently, but it can be used as a shade in a picnic area, rain fly at the top of a tent and so many other uses.3. Good grommets and waterproof inseam. What I did not like -1. It takes a while to actually put the tarp out in shape. You need two people to comfortably put it up.2. It did not come up with the poles and you will have to buy them separately. The picture has the poles but as a package it did not come with it. I would have expected it comes with the complete package.

Very light and compact compared to traditional options
The media could not be loaded. This Night Cat camping tarp is a fantastic option to replace the old bulky and heavy polyurethane type tarps as it takes up so much less room and weighs a fraction of the weight but works fantastically for camping. This is a perfect option If you want short term storage or a very easy to pack shelter this is by far the best option. So the tarp offers 8 grommet points along with 16 tie points that can be used independently of the grommets. The tie points are all double stitched and reinforced allowing this to handle strong winds even when pulled tight. This comes with 8 adjustable nylon ropes and 6 aluminum tri-stakes, the stakes do not have any pull cord but it would be possible to add your own if you choose as they are whole punched for that reason. The ropes are black with a grey stripe until exposed to light (like a flashlight) at which point they become reflective and easy to see, this is super helpful at night so you don't trip on a line or forget any of them.As I mentioned above about the weight I would like to point out this tarp weighs only 2.4 lbs vs around 14 lbs for a same sized polyurethane counterpart. I think you'll love this as it's small and light enough to easily remain in my car or even backpack, thus it's always on hand when you need a quick shelter or to cover your gear on the trail. The color is a very nice olive drab (my personal color of choice) and offers good concealability and as such doesn't detract from the beautiful outdoor scenery. This is also very helpful if your trying to keep your gear less visible. All things said I personally really like this tarp and found the name entertaining as well (I am a night and a cat person after all), moreover I am pretty sure you will at very least really like this tarp as much as I do.I really appreciate you taking the time to read all of that, moreover I hope this review covers any questions you might have had. I also truly hope you are currently and continue to have an amazing day.-GhosT

Good Shelter Tarp!
I took this out with me this weekend and gave it a real good test. The key to this is the initial set up. You have to set it up the way you want it based on the conditions around you. If you plan on using this as a sleeping shelter, definitely keep it as low to the ground as you can to prevent the wind from blowing up underneath it. If you're going to use it as a basic sunshade or tarp that may give your tent entrance some extra cover to it (which is what I did), then it does exactly what it's supposed to do.The material is solid and the spikes are of equal quality and not made of some cheap plastic or tiny spikes that may or may not work. The drawstring bag is equally solid and it held up to being bounced around on the back of my pack as I got to/from my destination. It was a little tricky geting it back INTO the bag but that seems to be a common problem amongst many portable camping gear items recently.I'd love for the manufacturer to make the bag a couple inches bigger because the tarp (or any piece of camping equipment) never compresses back into the same shape as it did when it comes out of the box. That one very small minor complaint being said, this is a good shelter tarp for the money, especially since Amazon has a 15% off coupon for it right now.
